Since winning the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts has become an inspiration for many young quarterbacks. Let’s dive into an example of such a player who favors the Eagles quarterback. Born on December 13, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe shares his birthday with Taylor Swift (the superstar WAG of the Chiefs community). But still, when he was asked whom he is favoring in this year’s Super Bowl, Milroe made his point clear.

By writing, “That’s my dog,” the young quarterback expressed that he wanted the Eagles to win over the Chiefs, so that Hurts can win his first Super Bowl. Now that the SB has ended with that result and the offseason has begun, all eyes are on the NFL draftees of the year, including Jalen Milroe.

Milroe is one of the most polarizing prospects heading into the NFL Combine. However, scouts can’t seem to agree on what kind of player he will be at the next level! Some compare him to Jalen Hurts while some with Malik Willis. According to NFL Rookie Watch on X, “Jalen Milroe’s draft stock is reportedly “all over the place” between NFL scouts heading into the NFL Combine. Some NFL scouts believe Milroe’s “ceiling” is Tyrod Taylor, and that he’s just an SEC version of Malik Willis. Some NFL scouts believe Milroe is “Jalen Hurts all over again” as a prospect and is worthy of a first round choice. And some NFL scouts think Milroe would have a “better chance of success” switching to RB rather than playing QB in the NFL.”

So, as per the report, an anonymous AFC scout quipped, “The throwing portion of Milroe’s combine workout is critical for him. It will be what determines if he’s worth a 2nd or a 5th.” In 2024, Jalen Milroe recorded 2,844 yards and 16 scores. He completed the season on 205-of-319 passing with 11 interceptions. Now that he is moving towards the NFL Combine, teams are struggling to pin exactly what he is. But one thing is sure, if Milroe shines at the Combine and shows his worth as a QB, he might be considered as the next Jalen Hurts.

However, all these speculations and predictions could only be done when Jalen Milroe is drafted to an NFL team in the 2025 Draft.

What could be the landing spots for arguably the Jalen Hurts-like QB?

Jalen Milroe is a wildcard heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Some scouts see him as the next Jalen Hurts. Others think he could switch positions entirely. All these opinions tell that the talent is there – no question about it. His speed is electric. His arm strength is undeniable. But the turnovers? Or the accuracy issues? That’s where teams might hesitate a bit. This is evident in his past two season’s stats. Since 2023, the Alabama QB scored 71 total TDs (39 passing, 32 rushing). This is more than anyone else in the SEC. But here’s the scene.

Jalen Milroe also turned the ball over 23 times, the most in the conference. Focusing just on 2024, he continued his big play ways. He racked up 36 touchdowns, but gave away 15 turnovers. Nevertheless, he is talented and all he needs is the right team to give him time. So, who could be the potential landing spots for the QB? According to the reports, the Steelers could help him develop behind a veteran, likely Russell Wilson.

If not, then New Orleans might see him as their future after Derek Carr. Oh, and the Jets too can come up as a great home for the quarterback, as they are on the hunt for a long-time QB. They have the pieces, but all they need is stability at the quarterback position. Even the Seahawks could be a great fit as they are building up the team. And last but not least, Miami could also be a perfect fit for Milroe. There he can be surrounded by speed and also solve the QB problem, as Tua Tagovailoa is prone to injuries.

So, let’s see which of these five teams step up to pick him up this season. Or will it be a completely different team altogether? A lot depends on his Combine showing.
