‘Jalen two shoes’ were back again last week against the Steelers. But this time, Roger Goodell’s NFL was not letting the Eagles QB Jalen Hurts slip through their eyes. His decision to wear two different colored cleats in week 15 led to the NFL handing Hurts a four-figure fine. As NFL insider Tom Pelissero first broke the news that Hurts cleats “didn’t match the Eagles’ Constitutional team colors.”

Now, after getting slapped with a $5,628 fine. Hurts decided to troll the NFL’s uniform and equipment rules that he violated last week. As he made his way to FedEx Field to face their divisional rivals, the Commanders, Hurts pre-game outfit probably had a secret message. Jalen Hurts had a two-color suit on, where he wore a black inner and grey blazer outside. This makes us wonder whether he was trying to send a message to Roger Goodell for the hefty fine they handed him.

But here’s the thing: $5,628 is almost peanuts for the Eagles QB if you look at the contract he is earning in Philly. With an average annual salary of $51M, this fine is 0.01% of his salary. However, Hurts did explain the reason that led to him wearing two different colored cleats, “I was supposed to wear the Columbia 11s that I gifted the kids that were at the Wings Initiative after last week’s game, and they never came in.”

Well, the Eagles QB wasn’t satisfied with the first offense. He wore those same Kelly green cleats and the lighter green shade that didn’t match the Eagles jersey to Washington. Yes, as things stand, Hurts is set for a second fine that would cost him around $16,883. But he may not have to worry about paying those fines. Because Jordan Brand has got their most-prized athletes back.

Well, at the end of the day, a rule is a rule. However, this time, Hurts may not have to worry about the fine as his partner company released a statement saying, “We’re paying the fine. You can’t ban greatness.” But this isn’t the first time a shoe company has paid their player’s fine. Nike did the same with Michael Jordan almost 40 years ago. When he also violated the league’s dress code by wearing Air Jordans. As one of the representatives tweeted, “Nike paid the fines and the game hasn’t been the same since.”

However, this isn’t the first time Hurts has found himself taking the gridiron with two different colored cleats. Going back to October, when the Eagles faced off against the Bengals. The 26-year-old did the same when he couldn’t untie the knot on one of his Jordan 4Es. From that moment on, Hurts has found himself a new nickname that many of you are already familiar with.
