What a showdown at Lincoln Financial Field between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers! Jalen Hurts and Co. pummelled Jordan Love‘s team for a 22-10 win. Before the game, a renowned NFL analyst predicted something important about one of the above teams and also about the Super Bowl matchup to be held in New Orleans. But how did his predictions fare?
Peter Schrager, a senior and respected NFL analyst, made a unique prediction about the Philadelphia Eagles’ wildcard opponents game, in September 2024. What was his prediction? Peter Schrager had said on X, “Annual tradition, 30 minutes before Week 1 kicks off…Super Bowl pick: Chiefs over Packers,” on September 6. But with the Packers done for the season, Peter Schrager’s prediction has failed this time, breaking his incredibly accurate prediction streak of five years.

The sportscaster became a top-notch Super Bowl predictor. In the 2019-20 Super Bowl, Schrager had said that the Kansas City Chiefs would win. The Chiefs won the SB against the San Francisco 49ers with a 31-20 final score. The following season, the 42-year-old picked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win, and that’s exactly what happened!
After the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, people started demanding Schrager’s Super Bowl pick. So for the 2021-22 season, he predicted that the Los Angeles Rams would win. Surprise, surprise, they did! The Rams achieved their 2nd Super Bowl win against the Cincinnati Bengals. That’s really impressive, right?
For the 2022-23 season, the sports analyst had said that it would be the Chiefs that win the Super Bowl and bang! Andy Reid and the gang did it against the Eagles. And for last year’s Super Bowl too, he had predicted that the Chiefs would win over the 49ers and it came true! That’s five years of correct predictions! Dope!
But that streak has now come to an end as the Philadelphia Eagles under Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley‘s lead crushed Peter Schrager’s Super Bowl pick in the wild-card round!
Saquon Barkley’s Eagles hurdled two opponents after wild-card victory
The Eagles not only dominated home ground with a 22-10 victory but have sent a message to prediction makers not to underestimate them. After all, they were just one step away from claiming the Lombardi two seas0ns before.
In the first half of the game or even the first quarter itself, the Eagles set the pace and went 10-0 on the scored board. The Packers matched that total in the second half but fell woefully short. Saquon owned the game with 119 rushing yards. And it resulted in the Eagles adding another win to their tally of 14 from the regular season.

The Eagles are flying high now and locked their targets on taking the spot that Schrager had reserved for their vanquished opponents. Who knows, maybe Schrager will get the other half of his prediction right. How does the idea of a rematch from Super Bowl LVII sound to you?
