Something doesn’t feel right seeing the Eagles this season, and it’s not the scoreboard we are talking about. Obviously, the Eagles are not flying how they used to, and the reason is hidden in plain sight. With an embarrassing defeat of 33-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Iggles already saw it coming. And not only the team, but even former HCs confronted the elephant in the room.
The Eagles’ woes run deeper than their one of the worst games in Tampa Bay. With an “unhealthy” relationship between the HC Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts, tension has only grown more pronounced. And even former HC Rex Ryan says, “He can’t hide it. I think there is a disconnect.” And that’s not all!
According to Ryan, the quarterback’s gameplay reflects a decline in his confidence. Hurt is holding onto the ball longer than any other quarterback in the league, clearly rattled by pressure. The former HC added, “I think it’s, there’s something personal there too is what it looks like to me and you know, obviously the play.”

“I think there is a bigger concern here. I think you got way too many independent contractors and nobody playing as a damn team. That’s the problem with the Eagles.”

And the real concern lies with the team’s dynamics. Notably, the “independent contractors” have dampened the Eagles rather than playing as a cohesive unit. The excuses are piling up, but one thing is clear: the Eagles must address their internal issues to regain their footing. While the Phillies are busy finding their rhythm, Jalen Hurts has become the talk of the town for the wrong reasons.

Since last season, Hurts has committed an alarming 27 turnovers, including interceptions and fumbles, the highest in the NFL during that span. This troubling trend continued and Hurts has now thrown interceptions in eight consecutive regular-season games, putting immense pressure on the team’s offense. The Eagles’ struggles with turnovers have resulted in a dismal -6 turnover ratio early in the season, and they haven’t won the turnover battle in their last 12 games.
Will Hurts stop hurting the team’s performance? Only time will tell, but one thing’s certain – Jalen Hurts must find a solution to his turnover troubles if the Eagles hope to soar again.
