Kirk Cousins has posted a video on X, captioned “Thank you Minnesota. Love, Turner, Cooper, Julie and Kirk”. He said in the video, “First of all, thank you to the tremendous teammates, coaches, support staff, management, and ownership of the Minnesota Vikings for the way they have come alongside me and supported me, A quarterback really doesn’t have a chance without great people around him, and for six seasons in Minnesota I had great people around me and I don’t take that for granted. It was a privilege to quarterback the Minnesota Vikings”. The Falcons inked a four-year, $180 million deal with Cousins, ending their pursuit of a franchise quarterback.

Cousins joins an offense stocked with first-round talent, including linemen and skill position players, offering him ample support to lead the team. This move wraps up the Falcons‘ ye­ars hunt for a replacement for Matt Ryan traded before the 2022 season. Since then, they trie­d Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder at quarterback. But both struggle­d at times. This caused instability for the te­am.
