The Denver Broncos have finally ended their losing streak and that too with a big bang! Although some were expecting the Chiefs to lose the game, the 24-9 Chiefs loss was unaccounted for. Amid this, Patrick Mahomes played the game even though he was ill and had come out of an IV treatment. The weather, multiple botches by the Chiefs, combined with Mahomes’ illness gave the Broncos the much needed edge to win the game.
Coach Andy Reid came forward to address the loss to the media in a post-game press conference and gave more insight into what went wrong. Safe to say that the Chiefs are in pieces right now after the Broncos snapped their win streak.
Many failures of Andy Reid and the squad

Right off the bat, Coach Andy addressed the 5 turnovers and the poor red-zone performance. The turnovers were responsible for giving 17 points to the Broncos. ‘I’ll take full responsibility for it,’ mentioned Coach Andy in a sullen voice. Coach says that he’s never seen his team play like this before and it’s his responsibility to get things right, which didn’t happen. The conversation then shifts to Patrick Mahomes, who was ill with the flu throughout the game. Coach Andy defended Mahomes by saying that he was not going to use it as an excuse for the loss.
If it weren’t for the turnovers, the team would not have a problem winning, or at least the coach thinks so. “You miss off an inch in this league, it’s a mile… so, it kills you,” said Coach Andy to the reporter. Andy Reid was asked whether the Broncos did something that the Chiefs lacked, to which his response was very honest. “They did better, and we didn’t execute the way we needed to,”.
The bottom line of the game for the Coach was, “Work it out, take it to heart, learn from it, and move on”. The Chiefs’ execution remains the main source of contention for this game.
Broncos are on the books again

This game has put the Broncos on the map again. They still have a long way to go with that 3-5 record. But winning this game wasn’t due to luck, the weather, or Mahomes being sick. It came down to performance, and safe to say that Russell Wilson and the Broncos went all in on the Chiefs to secure the win. Can’t forget the phenomenal catches Jerry Jeudy made.
Add to that the interceptions and the team had a perfect chance of taking a win home. Russell Wilson had 3 touchdowns, along with 12 out of 19 completed passes. Though he was sacked 6 times in the game, he persevered and delivered the blows that turned out fatal for the Chiefs.
