George Kittle has dealt with a couple of injuries this season, including one major hamstring injury. And this has arguably troubled him in giving his best this year. After this injury, many also believed that the San Francisco 49ers tight end is struggling to gain back his previous momentum. Is it true?
Well, according to George Kittle’s wife, Claire Kittle, it’s not like that. If we look at this year’s record, Kittle is currently ranked third among tight ends for yards per game (74.4 receiving yards). But that’s not all!
Claire made sure to share a list with her fans on Instagram. This story featured a list of players who have the “Highest yards per target in a single season among Tight Ends.” And guess what? George Kittle appears on this list thrice, including holding the top two spots. His incredible 11.7 yards per target in 2024 is the best ever. This shows how impactful and efficient he is as a TE.

In addition, George Kittle also had 11.3 and 10.1 yards per target in 2023 and 2018, respectively. With this list, Claire Kittle tried to shut down all the struggling rumors of the athlete, as she wrote three-words for the TE, “In his prime,” tagging Kittle in the caption.
Besides George Kittle, others on the list are Rob Gronkowski with 10.7 (in 2011) and 10.3 (in 2017); and Antonio Gates with 10.1 yards per target in 2009. But Kittle’s thrice achievement itself tells that the 31-year-old man isn’t finished. So, although the 49ers are eliminated this season, Kittle is one name who can help the franchise to make a strong comeback the next year.
Apart from this, there is also one player in the roster who is seen as an important part of the team.
Besides George Kittle, the 49ers can also believe in one other player?
There are several important names in the 49ers’s roster list. Besides Prock Purdy, George Kittle and others, the 49ers can also put their faith in their running back, Isaac Guerendo. Why? Well, as per ESPN, Guerendo’s 5.9 yards per carry stands out as fourth-best mark among any of the 67 running backs.

The 49ers’s history with drafting running backs has been rocky, to say the least. Why? Well, three mid-round picks—Joe Williams, Trey Sermon, and Tyrion Davis-Price—all failed to stick around for more than two seasons. Together, they barely scratched the surface, totaling just 287 yards and one touchdown in 16 games. But now Isaac Guerendo, a late fourth-round pick in 2024, feels like a breath of fresh air. With his entry, it feels that the 49ers have finally avoided another big disaster in choosing a RB for the team.
In only 14 games, many with limited opportunities, Guerendo has already shattered those numbers. He has racked up 381 yards, four touchdowns, and added 11 catches for 87 yards. With this record, he has shown that he belongs in this offense. His rookie season has been a revelation, proving the 49ers might have finally cracked the code. But can Guerendo keep this momentum going and prove he’s more than just a one- season wonder? Time will tell, but for now, he’s giving fans and the team plenty to believe in.
