Even the Cowboys (the most expensive franchise in the world) can’t seem to buy a win these days—and that’s saying something. Jerry Jones might want to rethink those midseason “cursed” comments because his team is now stuck at three wins after 11 weeks. Sure, part of the blame lies in their own inconsistencies. But let’s call it what it is: the injury bug has been relentless. And now, to make matters worse, Guard Tyler Smith is out for the “difficult” Commanders game.

The Cowboys’ O-line is looking shaky, with both starting guards ruled out. First, it was Zack Martin, with multiple hits (shoulder and ankle). Now, Smith’s ankle injury has sidelined him.

So, what does this mean for the Cowboys Nation? Well, you guys will see T.J. Bass and Brock Hoffman stepping in to fill those massive gaps. Ooh! We all love a little trial by fire, but not when there are Ls more than Ws.

As for Tyler Smith’s inactiveness, it simply sucks… 90 minutes before the kick-off, and on the other side? A fierce challenge awaits them. But it wasn’t all big of a surprise, this update.

I mean, Smith did not really attend any of the Cowboys practice sessions all week leading up to this game. So, this was inevitable. Still, it does not mean that the O is not going to feel his absence.

Tyler Smith is out; more troubles await for the Cowboys’ O

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Cowboys overcome their injury curse, or is this season already a lost cause?

Have an interesting take?

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Cowboys this season, you’ve probably noticed one thing… No, not chaos. You don’t even need to watch them to know what’s down. But Tyler Smith playing Mr. Versatility. Dallas drafted him originally to replace Tyron Smith at left tackle, but, last season, he slid into left guard and earned himself a Pro Bowl nod. But this year? He took up the LT role again in the week 6 Steelers clash.

And boy, he made it look effortless. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer didn’t hold back, calling him a “freak athlete” who’s been preparing for every contingency since training camp. That’s just who Smith is. But here we are with the bad news: the Cowboys are going to miss that “freak” on Sunday against the Commanders.

Honestly, it feels like piling on at this point. This offense is already hobbling through the season. They’re 30th in rushing yards per game, have a red-zone efficiency that barely cracks 41%, and are averaging a measly 19.7 points per game. It’s not just bad; it’s one of the worst starts of Mike McCarthy’s career. And without Smith anchoring the line, things could go from bad to worse.

But this is not it… We know Dak Prescott has not been balling, but he would miss the trip to Washington as well because of the hamstring issue. This has been the running theme for the Cowboys this season. It’s sad at times, but Jerry Jones makes up for it. His comments might not fix anything (they haven’t ever), but, hey, they give fans something to laugh (or groan) about.
