The answer is NO. Actually, Nicholas Petit Frere’s maternal grandpa gave him this last French name. He, too, was not from France, but rather from Haiti. Interestingly, his last name in English translates as “little brother” and it is pronounced differently. While many people had their own opinion, Kim Smith a news reporter, confirmed that the correct pronunciation is “puh-TEE FRAIR.”

When Nicholas Petit Frere entered the NFL he revealed how much football was important to him. The Titans picked him in the 3rd round as the 69th overall pick in 2021 draft. The man regarded the NFL as a dream come true. During his first conference after being selected, the OT said, “This is an amazing opportunity to be here in front of the NFL and run a 40 in front of the NFL.”

He worked towards his dream of becoming an NFL player since the fifth grade. But, how? Well, surprisingly, the man was overweight as a child and shed a total of 25 pounds by middle school. But this was not enough which is why in high school, he again lost about 40 pounds and gained some muscle bulk in order to pursue football. That’s Impressive!

Well, now that everyone can be certain that Nicholas Petit Frere is not from France. Where is the OT exactly from?

Where is the Titans’ OT from?

The OT was born on September 15, 1999, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This signifies he’s an American citizen. While everyone can tell that the man is an excellent athlete, he was a bright student as well. It’s incredible how he managed to do both at the same time. Petit-Frere attended Ohio State as a scholar-athlete and graduated in 2021 with a degree in business marketing.

He polished himself so well on the Ohio State team that he eventually became a Titans standout. The man has played 29 games in his career of which 10 games are from this season. While he does not have a precise stat record, his presence is extremely beneficial to his side. Although the OT began his career in 2022, his name made news headlines in 2023. But it wasn’t for the best reason.

The man was accused of breaking federal regulations and betting on a game. This was also a regulation violation for the NFL, therefore he received a six-game suspension in 2023. This had a significant impact on his career, but he returned in 2024 with a more positive outlook. Right now, he will be trying for his team to win the upcoming games and finish the season on a positive note. Titans are currently in a poor position, with only two victories and eight losses, and have a big game against the Commanders coming up.
