How many NFL players are there who have won the Super Bowl in their first 2-3 career years? Very few, right? But you know, Nelson Agholor, the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, has made it into the NFL and earned many accolades, including the Super Bowl.

He has been in the Ravens nation since last season, but before coming to Baltimore he has served as a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles (where he won the Super Bowl), the New England Patriots, and the Raiders as well. Though he has not got the ball frequently to score great stats this year, Nelson Agholor has landed a decent score including two touchdowns and 14 receptions after playing 14 games. Quite good, right? But where is the young player from?

Nelson was born in Nigeria and then his family got permission to land in the USA. But as time went by, Agholor’s family got US citizenship and he is still thankful for this. Talking about his family’s days on the African continent, he got emotional. When asked about how important the place is to him than his birthplace, the Ravens WR thanked god saying, “It all stems from wanting to give their children a better opportunity at life, to do more. It gives me the confidence and strength to be proud of all that I accomplished.”

Nelson has worked hard to get into the big league. In school itself, Nelson was 3rd in his class and was rated a five-star wide receiver. When he got an opportunity to play as a wide receiver for the USC Trojans, Agholor nailed it! At the college level, he scored 20 receiving TDs. That’s amazing, right? And after completing college, Agholor was drafted by the Eagles. This was a great deal for a boy who was born a thousand miles away from America.

Agholor is Nigerian-American by nationality. So, to be more clear, he is American. If you search about his childhood, you will get to know Nelson was born in Nigeria but his family moved to the USA when he was only five years old. Since his school days, he wanted to be a great football player. In school, Nelson played at Berkeley Buccaneers as a wide receiver and running back. After school, he played for the University of Southern California before getting picked by the Eagles in the 2015 NFL draft.

Nelson has won many hearts. Do you wanna know what Patriots’ former head coach Bill Belichick replied when asked about Agholor’s years (2021-22) with the Patriots, Belichick said, “He was here all offseason and had a really good offseason. Was productive. He had a really good spring of training. He’s come out here. He’s consistently made plays — made plays are obviously down the field which is very important, but also in other areas. Very few mental errors. Very few mistakes, so he’s looked good.” So, a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach praised Nelson. Nelson Agholor’s story is surely inspiring for kids who want to be great at their craft and have no national boundaries in his mind.
