Justin Fields has come a long way in his career. From being an “Elite” QB at his Georgia high school to being a gunslinger of a passer at Ohio State. That’s only his journey before the NFL stardom graced his life. Stepping into the big league, Fields was not only a first-rounder but also a four-year starter in the league. Still only 26, Fields obviously has a lot ahead of himself. And this isn’t even 10% of what he probably would want to achieve in his NFL dream.

But whatever he does every step of the way, he is grateful to one higher being. Fields considers himself fortunate to be blessed by the Almighty. However, the real question is, which religion and ethnicity does he belong to? Let’s find out together, shall we?

What is Justin Fields’ ethnicity?

It should be very well-known by now that Fields is a devout Christian. The moment he entered the NFL, Fields took a moment to express his gratitude to God for making his childhood dream come true, “Growing up, my dream was to one day play the game that I love at the highest level. Now, thanks to God’s grace and mercy, along with the help of you all. I am in a position to turn that dream into reality.” Actually, this wasn’t the first time Fields has been outspoken about his religious beliefs.

Going back to his college days, Fields once thanked God for providing him with the best support system possible. “God blessed me with the greatest support system anyone could have. My parents sacrificed any and everything to put me in a position to follow my dreams. I can never truly repay them. But I hope I’ve made them proud. I will continue to strive daily to be a light on the hill as I was raised, Fields shared on his X. You know what makes his connection with God more special? Well, it’s his humility.

Fields is known for wearing a wristband that says, “Humble Over Hype.” It’s basically a nonprofit organization that focuses on spreading humility generation after generation. Using spiritual studies helps in catering to the moral development of athletes like Fields. Humble Over Hype follows 1 Peter 5:6: preachings, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.” There goes Fields’ religious beliefs. What about his nationality? Is he American or a Christian from some other nation?

Is Justin Fields American?

To make it clear, Justin Fields is a true-blooded American born in Kennesaw, Ga. And to make his American roots more special, Fields’ father, Ivant, once desired to be an NFL player himself. However, Ivant’s grades in college didn’t allow him to realize that dream. He wasn’t even accepted to Division I college, which stopped his NFL dream from being a reality, unlike his son. That’s why Fields’ father was tough on him about his studies.

What’s your perspective on:

Does Justin Fields' faith and humility set him apart in the NFL, or is it just hype?

Have an interesting take?

“I had D-1 talent. But I had to go to Eastern Kentucky because I didn’t have the grades. I finished the SAT in about 5 minutes because I just put Cs all the way down. So, I was really, really, tough on him,” Ivant shared. And guess it actually paid off. “I looked at them (his grades) every single day, three times a day. He graduated from Harrison High School with a 3.9 GPA,” Ivant continued. Judging by Fields’ rise in the NFL, Ivant’s toughness with him really paid dividends.

He is now a New Yorker—a member of Gang Green. And most importantly, in a place that respects him and wants him more than anyone else. So, God has been kind to Fields. And we hope it will remain the same forever, like his never-changing, down-to-earth attitude.
