Can the Jets survive without Jermaine Johnson, or is their season already doomed?

There is a famous saying, “winning the battle but losing the war.” Well, this line perfectly suits the New York Jets as the team won against the Titans, but at what cost? With a 24-17 score, the Jets secured their first win of the season but maybe lost a player for the long run!

It wasn’t surely a good day for the Jets’ Jermaine Johnson, as he was forced to leave the Week 2 game after suffering a possible Achilles injury. And now there are concerns the injury might put an end to the defensive end’s 2024 season.

And as everyone was expecting it to be bad news, Head Coach Robert Saleh also feels the same. When Saleh was asked if Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles on Sunday, the HC couldn’t resist revealing the truth. He said, “It’s unfortunately looking like that. We will confirm it tomorrow.”

He mentioned that it appears the defensive end may have torn his Achilles, but further medical evaluations are needed to confirm the severity. With that said, it seems like the injury might affect Johnson’s career. While Jermaine was in hot pursuit of Titans quarterback Will Levis, who was scrambling up the middle for a 21-yard run.

But with just over four minutes left in the third quarter, things took a wrong turn. Johnson suddenly went down without any contact, and it was clear something was wrong. Within moments, the cart was on the field as his concerned teammates huddled around him, hoping for the best. Moreover, not only the Jets squad but even Johnson is hopeful about the injury!
