With the Bengals gearing up for their season opener against the Patriots, Chase’s status remains uncertain. Chase’s  presence at training camp, raised questions about his readiness. Head coach Zac Taylor had previously expected the WR to be available for the opener but hinted at a more cautious approach, saying, “We’ll just take it day by day.” With the first game just around the corner, fans are left wondering if the 24-year-old will suit up. Stay tuned for updates as the Bengals finalize their game plan ahead of kickoff!

ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently highlighted the ongoing contract negotiations, noting that the next 48 hours are crucial. He said, “Where if he’s going to play at all this week against New England, that deal has to get figured out.” Chase is seeking new deal, evident since he hasn’t participated in team drills all season. With two years left on his rookie deal, the WR’s holdout sparks doubt about his Week 1 availability.

Also the Bengals set to face the Chiefs in Week 2! The situation becomes even more pressing. As Schefter pointed out, that game could have significant playoff implications, making it a potential leverage point for Chase. On the other side, the Patriots are entering a season of significant change. With Bill Belichick no longer at the helm, the Patriots have undergone a major transformation. Fresh faces now fill key coaching roles, and rookie quarterback Drake Maye is set to lead the charge. The Patriots are up against long odds this season, with a win total set at just 4.5 games, making them the biggest Week 1 underdogs.

The Bengals, favored by 8.5-9 points, are expected to dominate. They’re the most bet team to win the AFC this year and are eyeing a Super Bowl run. However, some caution remains as Cincinnati has struggled in September recently, losing their last two season openers outright.

With a strong roster and Burrow at the helm, the Bengals clearly have the upper hand. As one analyst put it, “The Bengals are dangerous when Burrow’s healthy,” and they’ll look to prove that right from the start.
