George Kittle might surely be looking for the answers in the stars for the rough patch he is going through in life. While he was sidelined due to a hamstring injury during the Week 3 game against the Rams, he returned to the gridiron on Sunday, but maybe to suffer another injury!
While he recovered from a hamstring injury, he is now battling with a new injury. And we think it’s a bit serious! As per NFL Medicine Physician Jesse Morse’s X post, the TE is dealing with a rib injury, and the Niners aren’t sure about his return to the gridiron anytime soon! The post read, “George Kittle dealing with a new injury, this time a rib. They’re up a ton so not sure they rush him back.”

As both teams headed into halftime during the Week 4 game, the Niners rang alarm bells with concerning news. While Kittle was officially questionable to return for the second half due to a rib injury, the five-time Pro Bowl was in great form before exiting the field.
With three receptions on all three targets for 38 yards, including an incredible, Megatron-like touchdown in triple coverage, Kittle was surely ruling the day. With such an insane catch, he was surely inviting more such moments from the match-up. Little did the TE know, that he would face a rib injury that would keep his return uncertain.
While Kittle was injured, he returned to the gridiron in the third quarter! But there is a twist. Discussions are going on his return in the upcoming games! So, where does the Niners squad stand without George Kittle?

While Kittle recovered from his hamstring injury, the rib injury came out of syllabus. While the TE was bringing his A-game on, his plans were ruined because of the uninvited guest. The 30-year-old player states, “It doesn’t feel very good.”
Well, it doesn’t feel good to the fans too! If Kittle misses a game due to his rib injury, the team’s offense might take a significant hit. This would force the Niners to revamp their strategy and depend on less experienced TEs. And since Kittle’s a top playmaker, would other players be able to fill those big shoes?

While George might miss the upcoming games, all eyes are on Eric Saubert and Jake Tonges. Well, history isn’t on their side as the 49ers are 7-10 without Kittle. From the TE’s leadership skills to his vibrant energy, the player has a huge impact on the team. Even HC Shanahan knows what’s at stake, and he will need to go the extra mile to make sure the Niners are completely prepared.
Given the 49ers’ comfortable lead, the team is currently not in a hurry to get the player back on the gridiron. They will probably err on the side of alarm, prioritizing Kittle’s health over immediate return. While they monitor Kittle’s injury, we pray for the TE’s speedy recovery!
