Will CeeDee Lamb's presence on the field be the game-changer Cowboys fans are hoping for?

The first week of the 2024 NFL season is bringing us various surprises, including the football stars whom we did not expect to see coming back so soon. Dallas Cowboys‘ wide receiver, who was holding out his play because of not getting a contract extension, has recently been confirmed to be on the active roster of the team again.

The Cowboys will soon face the Cleveland Browns in an ‘away game’. Up until now, it wasn’t confirmed whether CeeDee Lamb would be a part of the offense, but now it has been clearly revealed by the team that he will be visiting Cleveland for their season-opener.

The star WR of the team had been holding out before signing the four-year deal with the Cowboys. While he was holding out of training camps, the management was granted a two-game roster exemption. This commissioner’s exempt list allowed them to not use Lamb’s spot on the roster for the time being.

But now, everything seems to be back to normal. It was reported on X that Lamb has been re-activated from the exempt list, meaning that he is free to play during the game against the Browns on 8th September, Sunday.

This is good news because both the footballer and the team seemed to have worked out their differences and now fans will get to see the full team back in action. However, not everyone has been able to settle their contract disputes as of now, including the New York Jets linebacker.

Will Reddick also come around like CeeDee Lamb?

What’s your perspective on:

Have an interesting take?

The situation here is a bit different. While CeeDee Lamb was put on the exemption list for a while, Haason Reddick is facing no such issues with the NY Jets. On the other hand, it seems like the Jets are eager to have him back on the roster. However, he is holding out his contract, probably because he wishes to negotiate further. The linebacker has not been participating in any team activities. He wasn’t there in the pre-season either. The situation has made the fans impatient. In a recent conference, the head coach of the NY team claimed that they would be happy to have him back.

He also revealed that the likelihood of Reddick’s return for the game on Monday, 9th September, is low. According to Robert Saleh, it is “fair” to say that their linebacker would not yet be ready to show up on the gridiron. However, you never know when things may take a 180-degree turn. In this aspect, Reddick’s and Ceedee Lamb’s situations are different. Even if the LB doesn’t show up for the first NY Jets match, let’s stay hopeful that he will eventually be back in this season, anyway. As of now, let us celebrate Lamb’s re-activation on the main roster.
