Did Matt Eberflus' poor decision-making cost the Bears more than just a game this week?

The Chicago Bears faced a double loss this Week 9! One – The team lost their Sunday game against the Arizona Cardinals with a big 20-point. Second – The final few minutes in the game brought a concerning update for the team and the fans.

So, what happened? The Bears were hammered by the Cardinals and there was not much time left to make a comeback for the team. Still, the team and coach Matt Eberflus decided to leave their quarterback Caleb Williams on the field only to arguably make his disdain.

During the game, with just 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Bears quarterback Caleb Williams held his leg in pain on the ground after a hit. And in the next few minutes, he was seen limping off the field. Now this brought a huge concern to all.

Till now no update on his injury has been out yet. But NFL writer Dave on X pointed out a few mistakes: “Matt Eberflus just had his rookie quarterback out there in a blowout with 20 seconds left. Caleb Williams then got his leg hurt. Coaching malpractice. No situational awareness once again.” He and others are frustrated for sure, as Dave wrote, “Enough is enough.”

The Bears lost the game to the Cardinals 9-29.

The Bears nation is angry after Caleb Williams’ injury!

This injury happened when facing third–and–7 on Chicago’s 40-yard line, Caleb Williams, who earlier faced an easy throw criticism, scrambled but only managed to pick up two yards. Then with 33 seconds left on the clock, he completed a short pass to Keenan Allen. But right after the throw, he took a hard hit from behind. And say what! He was limping afterward.

Now this raised questions on the coach and the team, with even CBS’s color commentator Charles Davis openly criticizing: “I’m sorry, this just does not make sense to me. This is your rookie quarterback…I don’t think he should have been out there for two minutes.”

Nevertheless, many worry as they speculate it is a hamstring injury. However, when the media asked the coach Matt Eberflus about the injury, he simply put it as that Caleb Williams had “tweaked” his ankle on the game’s final drive.

Just tweaked? Nevertheless, a final report on his injury is yet to come out.
