Meanwhile, she also added that she expects an “out of the body” experience while singing the Black national anthem. “My body’s gonna be shaking like hell,” said Andra Day.

“It’s a hymn of triumph, and that’s what I want people to encounter when I sing this song. I want them to know that we have victory and we have peace already… It feels like there’s an honor,” Day added, referring to Lift Every Voice and Sing, or the Black national anthem.
