Giving a tribute to Stroud’s mom, it continued, “Growing up CJ was raised by a single mom, knowing firsthand how essential their role is in shaping the future. We want to celebrate you for your unwavering love, resilience, and dedication! (red heart emoji) Comment below expressing what being a strong single mom means to you! What keeps you going? 5 winners will be randomly chosen from the comments on February 13th!”

This special shoutout and gift hamper announcement caught the attention of many single moms, who are sharing their stories in the comment section. While every mom deserves love and recognition, this time only 5 will be lucky enough to receive a special token of appreciation from the C.J. Stroud Foundation.

Nevertheless, single C.J. Stroud indeed knows how to celebrate moms. After all, he knows what it takes for a single mother to push through tough times.

CJ Stroud’s mom is his best friend!

In Stroud’s life, one woman has played a huge role. And that’s not his girlfriend, as he is still single. It’s his mom, Kimberly Stroud. If you want to sum up their story, the Texans quarterback’s journey is one of resilience. Their struggles have shaped it.

His father, Coleridge Bernard Stroud III, was arrested twice and is now serving a 38-year sentence. That shattered their family, leaving his mother to raise four kids alone. At times, they were barely hanging on, almost losing everything, including their place to live. So, after filing for divorce in 2012, his mom “had to play both roles for me for a while — mother and father,” as per Stroud’s NFL Draft statements. Hence, he feels “super blessed to have a mother” like her.

Nevertheless, CJ Stroud’s father’s absence forced him to grow up fast. But instead of letting it break him, he used it as fuel to push forward. His mother saw that strength. Talking about it, she once said, “He had a choice when his father went away. He was going to let that motivate him and be the best or he was going to succumb to it and become a statistic of a kid whose parents did something they shouldn’t. I sit and I’m amazed at how resilient he is. C.J. is the most amazing human I have ever met.”

So, now CJ Stroud is making her proud. And with his fame and money, in November 2023, the athlete and his mom turned their pain into purpose. They launched the CJ Stroud Foundation to support single moms, children with incarcerated parents, and criminal justice reform.
