Is Deommodore Lenoir the 49ers' secret weapon against the Chiefs after his chat with Tom Brady?

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, vividly remembers his first meeting with Tom Brady. They first met after the CB’s first match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When they shook hands, the CB was amazed at seeing the GOAT in person. He revealed it during his recent appearance on The Richard Sherman Podcast. Adding that he had a pep talk with the superstar during the offseason, he exuded confidence for 2024. The seven-time Super Bowl winner must have given some tricks to the CB who lost last season by a whisker. He talked about the coming season in the podcast.

When Sherman asked him about the WRs in the league, he took several names. The CB has prepared for everyone, including Garrett Wilson and Justin Jefferson. Lenoir then reminisced about his rookie season when he was fighting for a spot on the roster. Hence, his mindset during the 2nd year was, “I ain’t grew up to be number 2. I was never trying to be number 2. I was always trying to be one.” He is carrying the same determination this season and has warned the rivals. But everyone is waiting for the rematch between last year’s finalists.

The CB didn’t mince his words to assert that they want revenge against the Kansas City Chiefs. He said, “We have to win that game. That game is a must win, we gotta get some type of get back and then at the end get another get back [Super Bowl].” They would have to come out stronger in 2024 and learn from their mistakes.

He revealed an interesting story about his discussion with former 49ers DC, Steve Wilks. Lenoir said that he watched the videos of the Chiefs before Super Bowl LVIII and said, “I talked to Wilks before the game, and I was just telling him how I was feeling.” He requested the DC to put him in the slot position, but that didn’t happen. Though the CB didn’t argue and went on to play, the Niners lost.

They signed/re-signed/extended contracts of more than 10 players to keep their team in championship spirit. A few of them are a two-year extension with RB Christian McCaffrey till the 2027 season, a one-year deal with DL Nick Williams, and a four-year deal with WR Ricky Pearsall. They are working tirelessly to find the perfect combination for the team.

NFL writer Charles McDonald claimed in July that if they manage to re-sign a contract extension with WR Brandon Aiyuk, their offense would be one of the best. Mike Garofolo solidified the 49ers’ claims of the Lombardi Trophy this year. Garofolo said, “What I’ve been told is that Brandon Aiyuk would prefer to stay with the 49ers. It sounds like there’s just one more thing that needs to be ironed out and if that thing gets ironed out, Brandon Aiyuk signs a deal, he stays with the 49ers, he drops the trade request and finally we can put this situation behind us.” That’s one last major part of their offensive plan.

According to Deommodore Lenoir, they have their last chance at the Super Bowl in 2024. If they win, that will be a great legacy for their head coach, Kyle Shanahan. Last year, they missed by a narrow margin. The Faithful hope they go all the way in this upcoming season.
