Russell Wilson led the Seahawks to two consecutive Super Bowls winning one, earning nine Pro Bowls and a 2019 PFF All-Pro nomination. In comparison, Josh Allen has yet to reach a Super Bowl and has two Pro Bowl entries to his name. But let that not fool you as the Bills QB is crushing the Broncos veteran in one department despite some injury issues.

The Broncos are in complete shambles once again this season, and Wilson’s sole heroics have not been able to change things. Allen, on the other end, has been instrumental in the Bills run so far, who are competing for the top spot on the AFC East. That might indicate something before the two face off at the weekend game, but we bet it’s not what you think.

Russell Wilson: Not as effective for his team as Allen

The Broncos are coming back from their biggest win of the season after humbling the Chiefs at Denver. But Josh Allen’s statistics can humble their star player Russell Wilson ahead of next Sunday. Despite falling short against the Bengals last week, the 2x Pro Bowler is the clear winner in terms of win percentage. Moreover, the quarterback is also miles ahead of Wilson when the stats are compared.

Allen has a pass completion rate of 71.3 with 18 touchdowns. Both are among the highest in the league this season, ahead of names like Patrick Mahomes. He is also the fourth in total yards behind Mahomes, being only the 4th QB to cross the 2400-yard mark so far. Russell, on the other hand, despite being the flag bearer for Broncos, has fallen to 23rd place. Other than his season-defying 16 touchdowns, the veteran QB has 1613 yards and a 66.1 passer rating.

However, all these seasonal stats pale in comparison to the biggest stats of Allen’s career with Bills. That is the all-time win percentage! The quarterback has a 57-29-0 record for the Bills, with a 66.28 % win rate. In comparison, the 2014 Super Bowl champ is blown off the sheets as he has a mere 7-16 record for the Broncos, with a 30.43% win rate, less than half of Allen. Even when compared with Wilson’s 103-53 record for the Seahawks, the term that made him a legend, Allen still reigns supreme. The latter, although close, gets a 66.03% win rate compared to Allen’s 66.28%.

This is a clear indication of who has been the more clutch player for their respective sides. And Wilson, for all his achievements, can’t compete with the 27-year-old. But there could be a twist in the tale. There’s one more indication that we might be missing out on.

The history and circumstances make Russell Wilson a favorite

The name ‘comeback’ has been synonymous with Russell Wilson for years. The ‘Mr. Comeback’ terrorized the NFL during his Seahawks era, displaying his sheer arm strength, incomparable passing ability, and unmatchable determination. The opponents have never been favorites despite having clear advantages over Russell’s side, and ironically it’s the same story once again.

Wilson has a 2-1 record over the Bills in his career, compared to Allen’s 2-o over the Broncos and even the all-time favoring the Bills 23-16-1. But that’s where things get interesting because even worse predictions were implied for the Broncos when they faced the Chiefs two weeks ago. The result, however, turned out to be out of the syllabus as they subdued it in their favor and closed the Chiefs’ scoreline by one digit. To make things worse, the Bills are looking to avoid a losing streak as Joe Burrow took care of the business last week.

The Broncos are the better-spirited team in reality, despite trailing every single statistic team-wise or individually. Now it is time for Allen to prove why he has been the more effective man for his franchise in the long run. The Broncos-Bills battle is taking the shape of a mega-clash with two entities of different histories fighting for the same goal, the Vince Lombardy Trophy.
