Jayden Daniels is the Washington Commanders‘ pre-season darling. The Washington Commanders rookie QB is yet to make his gridiron debut. However, that doesn’t mean that he has no admirers in the facility. During the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels became the second overall pick selected by the Washington Commanders.

While he hasn’t yet been named the official starter for the Commanders, despite having 24/7 access to the Commanders’ training facility, Daniels also impressed his coaches as he arrived at meetings seeking an antidote to the tricky coverage he’d identified in 11-on-11 drills. So much so that he has been garnering big praise from his coaches and veterans alike.

Jayden Daniels has been setting high expectations from Sam Acho and Louis Reddick. In a conversation on ‘NFL on ESPN’, Pointing out the stark difference between his stats at ASU and LSU. With 40 passing touchdowns, 20 rushing touchdowns, the Heisman trophy. He improved drastically as a runner and passer. “I am looking at what he did to get to that level. Repeating those actions to stay at that level of success,” claimed Sam Acho.

Louis Reddick backed those claims, saying, “I couldn’t agree more… I think Jayden Daniels is going to have the kind of season that again is going to have our eyes popping out of our heads.” Making people wonder who actually was the best quarterback in this year’s draft. The former scout for the Commanders finished by saying that Daniels took every challenge head-on and worked on it, eventually coming out on top.

“And that’s exactly what he has been doing in Washington.” Reddick isn’t the only one from the Commanders’ crew who has high praises for Daniels. Commanders HC Dan Quinn is quite optimistic about his rookie QB too.

Jayden Daniels: The perfect balance of a rookie and veteran

Appearing on The Jim Romes’ Show, Dan Quinn shed light on his early impressions of Jayden Daniels. Saying “He has the humility and hunger of a young player…but he has the swagger and calmness of a veteran.” The Commanders’ HC, unwittingly, backed Reddick’s claims of Daniels being able to withstand the toughest of the storms.

Stating that his prowess on the field stands as an example of his 50-plus starts during his NCAA career. And that Daniels has worked rigorously to learn the system of the big leagues. Drawing a connection between Daniels and Commanders’ QB Marcus Mariorta, Quinn stressed that his expectations from Daniels were nothing he could not achieve.
