CeeDee Lamb’s contractual drama doesn’t seem to have any conclusion, as the Cowboys WR continues his holdout with the new season breathing down our necks. Although Lamb has been pretty active on his social media these days with posts of him “grinding,” a new post has also been added to his Instagram. This time, he can be seen working out in a gym with the caption, “I’m working hard so my family can chill, I came out that part, where they don’t let you live. Give it my heart, cause it gave me sum real. Still, keep it Trimm.”

But as CeeDee Lamb waits for his phone call from Jerry Jones, will there be a resolution as the WR continues to work hard alone instead of training with his teammates? Meanwhile, the Cowboys remain hopeful they can reach an agreement before the new season kicks off on September 8th.
However, Lamb doesn’t seem to have stopped his training as he continues his preparations away from the squad. Even the Cowboys are not worried about the WR being physically fit to continue this new season as Dallas HC Mike McCarthy states, “We miss CeeDee. We love CeeDee. He’ll be great once he gets here. He’s in the middle of a business situation.” Well, this business related to his contract situation doesn’t seem to have a conclusion as Cowboys teammates show their support for the All-Pro.
Dallas LB Micah Parsons opened up about the importance of Lamb in the roster, “CeeDee is a part of this brotherhood whether he likes it or not. He’s not going anywhere. The business side, they’re gonna take care of it, no doubt about it.” But will there be a resolution soon to his contractual circus while the Cowboys gear up for their Week 1 in the new NFL season?
Will CeeDee Lamb get his contract extended before the new season begins?
With the price of WRs reaching new heights on the market, CeeDee Lamb wants a lucrative extension on his current contract. Entering his fifth-year option, Lamb will reportedly earn $17.99 million in 2024 from his rookie deal. But after finishing last season with 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 TDs to his name. Lamb is currently hoping for a deal similar to the one Justin Jefferson secured a few months earlier. The Vikings WR is currently the highest-paid wide receiver with a contract worth $35 million per season.
Looking at the three-time Pro Bowler expectations, he might not be wrong, as the numbers speak for themselves. From the time he graced the NFL, Lamb has racked up 396 receptions, 5,145 receiving yards and 32 TDs. For the Cowboys, Lamb remains the best in his position, with a contract resolution expected soon. Cowboys GM Jones recently provided us with an update on Lamb’s contract, “The facts are that I believe we’ll come together. I don’t want to speak for him. That’s what I’m trying not to do, but we wouldn’t have offered him what we’ve offered him if we didn’t want him to be here.”
Even ESPN insider Adam Schefter, while speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show, offered a positive update,” I think the two sides aren’t that far apart on a deal. I don’t think it should be that difficult, but again he’s still not there, still hasn’t gone through camp, so this has not gone the way that everyone expected.” Well, Schefter could be right, but Lamb doesn’t seem to have any interest in signing the contract that Jones is offering him.
But with the Cowboys’ preseason concluded, their regular season will start with a match-up against the Cleveland Browns. However, it remains to be seen whether Lamb will return before week 1. Or does this contractual ‘hold-up’ have more twists and turns? As fans, we can only wait and watch.
