The Lions have made history with their win over the Vikings. They became the second-seeded NFC side with the week 16 win, claiming the NFC North title in the process. Which is their maiden title since the division’s creation in 2002. And one man, particularly, has extra reasons to be happy. It’s Aidan Hutchinson.
The DE kept the Vikings’ surging QB Nick Mullens in check throughout the game, which pushed him to throw 4 interceptions. Mullens looked deadly when in position, so Hutchinson’s efforts to stop him became even more crucial. And reacting to the win in the post-game conference, the former Michigan graduate was flooded with emotions.

“This is just the start, though. This year is the start of what we’re going to create here in Detroit, the kind of culture we’re creating and just the kind of men that we have. You know, this is the standard now”, the DE said.

What started as a surprise has turned into a norm in Detroit now, as Hutchinson pointed out. And their hard work has paid off in numbers.
The Lions now have their first title in NFC North’s history, and they were the only team since the creation of the division in 2002 to not have won it. They also clinched their first division title since 1993, but there are ways to better it. They remain one of the 12 sides to have never reached the Super Bowl.
