Pat McAfee has become the biggest fan of quarterback Brock Purdy. The young sensation has taken the 49ers to the NFC Championship in consecutive seasons. The 49ers have a fantastic roster, but even the best can’t shimmer without a dependable quarterback. McAfee knows Brock Purdy’s importance to the San Francisco squad and has grilled QB Purdy’s haters who don’t want to see him succeed.

The 49ers have won 13 games out of 18 and clinched the NFC No. 1 seed in the regular season, and Purdy is at the helm of things, anchoring the 49ers’ ship. Pat McAfee reminded the facts and shared his emotions while debunking people questioning his abilities.

After introducing Brock Purdy’s name in a recent episode of his show, McAfee got real and addressed Brock Purdy’s chit-chat, saying, “I’m done with the Brock Purdy slander.” He sided with Purdy and reminded his story as Purdy came from the ashes, “Out of Iowa State, he was playing against Washington State just a couple of years ago. Now he is in the second year in the NFL back-to-back NFC Championships.”

Pat McAfee reminded fans that he was the last-round pick (No. 262) and mocked his haters: “Guy was handed absolutely nothing through this entire process, and now it’s like, well, we got to come out and kill this guy cuz he didn’t have a perfect game in the divisional round.” McAfee went one step forward and reminded everybody of Brock Purdy’s exceptional stats.

He addressed the entire Brock Purdy stint with the 49ers, including the playoffs, “20 & 5 and averaged 29.2 points per game with Brock Purdy as their starter.” McAfee felt confident about the prospects this time, “They’re 17 and 3 in average 30.1 points per game when Debo and Trent Williams both play.” He pointed out that one loss came in the NFC title game last year when Purdy got injured in the first.

Pat McAfee introduced Brock Purdy’s this year’s regular season stats, which are undoubtedly mind-blowing: “He led the NFL in yards per game (267.5), yards per attempt, yards per completion, first downs per attempt, passer rating, total EPA, success rate and total QBR.” He again made fun of his haters who thought Purdy was “check down bad, terrible a**, basic and all those things.”
