Tyreek Hill is having a different 2024 season. Arrested before the season opener, he managed to make a timely comeback before doing his iconic ‘handcuffed‘ celebration. 48 hours later, the wide receiver is trying to make a positive change. At least, this is what his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, claimed recently.

While appearing on Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Hill’s agent said, “We talked about all the things that athletes have tried to do over the years, like Colin Kaepernick and others. He’s taking a different track here. He’s trying to meet with leaders to bring people together to follow the rules.” Well, everyone is curious about the receiver’s next moves. And Tyreek Hill is trying to generate more awareness about such situations by talking directly to the people directly involved (the police officers). Certainly different from the quarterback!

Colin Kaepernick was all over the news in 2016. The reason! Kneeling during the national anthem. To protest against the racial oppression, he preferred to take the knee. While President Obama called it his (QB’s) right, Trump attacked him, saying that those who wanted to kneel during the national anthem should go to another country. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also disagreed with the quarterback’s tactics. Hill, though, is enjoying the support of his peers.

Rosenhaus further revealed during the show, “Tyreek is adamant about being an agent of change. And talking of the Dolphins, the NFL, and the NFLPA, everyone is behind Tyreek and it’s just a lot of momentum behind it right now to turn this into an example of how we can take a negative thing (and) turn into a positive thing.” Teammates have supported him since he was detained. However, with the support comes the responsibility to portray things in a just manner.

Tyreek Hill’s agent: They didn’t treat him like a human being

Miami-Dade Police released the video footage of Hill’s arrest today. The video has gathered some strong reactions from the fans. The agent also saw that footage and mentioned during the show, “For me, personally, I think the police officers that did that to Tyreek shouldn’t be in that position. Look at the guy who just kicked him right there. That guy should be fired. They didn’t treat him like a human being.” While claiming that such police officers should not be in those position(s), he also advised the WR.

Rosenhaus further said that these views were personal. However, he said that he would tell Tyreek Hill about his opinion and would also request his (Hill’s) legal team to pursue an apology from the police officers involved. Calling it an overuse of authority and power, he said that such officers should not be in force.

Many fans and analysts also have a similar view. Can he make a change in policing methods? We’ll have to wait and watch.
