Are the Saints doomed without Drew Brees, or is it just a rough patch for the team?

Let’s be honest Saints fans. The team’s performance left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth. A team led by a rookie quarterback blew out the home team and the fans didn’t look very happy. In fact, they started clearing out the Caesars Superdome way before the game came to an end. It wasn’t surprising. Not to Alvin Kamara.

Safe to say that the Saints fans still long for the Drew Brees era. But we’ll come to that later. Let’s talk about Alvin Kamara and what a Saints sideline reporter posted about him on X. Jeff Nowak saw the atmosphere at the Saints stadium and also how it affected the New Orleans running back.

Alvin Kamara’s honest admission

Per Nowak’s post on X, “Alvin Kamara says he’s in Year 8 and he’s never seen fans clear out of the Superdome the way they did tonight: ‘I get it. I would leave, too.’ #Saints.” The game was personally disappointing for the 5x Pro Bowler as he only came up with 10 rushing yards over 7 carries throughout the game. This is the guy who got a Pro Bowl nod for five consecutive years.

No one thought that Kamara would reunite with his former coach under such circumstances. Sean Payton coached Kamara for 5 years and it was under him that he made it to all those Pro Bowls. The Saints offense was so bad today that they had to employ a third string quarterback to get the ball rolling. It worked out, but it was too late.

After the game though, Spencer Rattler was listed questionable for some reason. It’s been a couple of years since the Saints fans have been facing disappointment. But this experience was something new for Alvin Kamara. John Hendrix, a lead writer for the New Orleans Saints took to X and posted the running back’s honest admission.

“Alvin Kamara said he doesn’t blame the fans for leaving. Said he’s never seen that in the Superdome. Said if he was a Saints fan he’d be fed up too,” Hendrix post on X read after the 33-10 loss. There is a reason why the fans might be feeling extra disappointed after the TNF game. One reason might be the fact that the future looks bleak for the New Orleans football team.

The battered New Orleans Saints

Did you see the depth chart and how many injured players there are on the chart? To start with, we have Derek Carr with his oblique injury. Also, the team’s primary receiver, Chris Olave is also listed as “Out.” If that wasn’t enough, the WR Rashid Shaheed is also on IR right now. Things don’t get better for the New Orleans Saints and Dennis Allen.

This game saw Paulson Adebo, the cornerback gets seriously injured. He broke his femur and will have a surgery tonight. On top of that, Nick Saldiveri and Marshon Lattimore also got injured and are listed as questionable. The whole thing is a mess right now. The depth chart will have you questioning about the team’s future this year.
