Did Ed Kelce deserve his Twitter suspension, or is this just another Musk overreach?

The Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce’s time on X is apparently over. Although Ed is famously known for being a content machine who loves to make people laugh, this time, he might have come across a serious issue. Known for being an avid Facebook user, Ed opened up on his thoughts describing the recent ban on Elon Musk-owned social media platform X.

Taking to his Facebook account, Kelce’s father stated, “I posted the thing about arms dealers active on X because frankly. I was pissed at Elon’s trolls. I rarely wrote anything on X, I just followed sports reporters.” Well, Ed is referring to the apparent political statement he shared a few days back that seemingly violated X’s “Terms of Service.”

Ed shared an article from The Times in London that claimed arms dealers in Yemen are selling weapons on Elon Musk’s platform. Soon after this post, Ed got banned from X, which prompted him to resort back to Facebook for voicing his frustrations. Before the post he made on Sunday, the Chiefs TE’s father wrote the first one on Saturday.

His initial post about the ban read, “Arms dealers are free to peddle their wares on X, but I’m banned for life, and they won’t say why, just a generic Terms of Service violation.” But Ed didn’t stop there as he went on to cite a possible theory behind the reason that could have led to him being banned on X.

“Apparently, the X Twits believe I posted something contrary to their rules in May or June 2023. Never happened. I’m guessing I was hacked, as the platform isn’t all that secure,” added Ed on Sunday. Although Kelce’s father is trying to find an answer regarding the ban from X, his love for Facebook knows no boundaries.

While giving an interview to “Bussin’ With the Boys,” Travis spoke about the way his father uses Facebook like we do with Google. “He’ll see some wild s-t come across and be like, Hey, what the f-k is this? Something so f-king out of the blue, like, something about me and Taylor,” Travis added jokingly. Even though Travis spoke about the thoughts of his dad about the relationship he has with Taylor Swift. Ed continues to play the role of a supportive father that everyone loves.

Ed Kelce shows support to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Both Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are going through tight schedules. While the singer is busy traveling on her Eras Tour, the Chiefs TE is gearing up for the new season. Although the two of them find it difficult to spend time together, Travis never misses the chance to show his emotional support to Taylor.

Have an interesting take?

Ed was the one who pointed out this side of his son in his Facebook post, “Travis contacted Taylor very fast and talked with her for a while to show support and see how she was feeling with that tense situation.” This situation was the moment Swift’s Vienna concert was canceled after an apparent threat involving three teenagers. Among them, the main suspect was a 19-year-old who planned to target the audience outside the stadium with knives and self-made explosives. But later on, all of them were arrested, while a 15-year-old was released after the interrogation.

Continuing on his son’s support for his girlfriend, Ed also added that Travis keeps his phone near to speak with Taylor if something urgent pops up. “He has one of his phones always right next to him when he goes to sleep, in case she needs to talk to him. They did spend some long hours on the phone yesterday, as it’s not a common situation to deal with,” Kelce’s dad added. But this is not the first time Ed has talked about the couple on his social media accounts.

When Kanye West dropped his new song titled “Lifestyle,” it had a line referred to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.” After this song hit the shelves, Ed took to his beloved Facebook to criticize Kanye, “Mental illness on full display.”
