It looks like the Odell Beckham Jr. we had come to know and love is finally back! The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver had been out for the entire season due to a knee injury. Even before the injury, he seemed to be a player in decline and not the one who had captured fans’ attention in 2019. But now a resurgent OBJ is on the rise once again!

The Ravens are comfortably placed at 8-3 and are at the top of their division. But the season is only halfway through and the Purple Pain should not get complacent. In the NFL, the tide can turn against you at any time. Hopefully, OBJ will be the bulwark against any mid-season crisis.

During Thursday Night Football, OBJ registered his best game since 2019 during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He recorded 116 yards on 4 catches. This was his most receiving yards in a single game since his Week 2 game with the Cleveland Browns in 2019. A season 10-year player, this is also only the second time that he has recorded this high number.

The NFL’s official website reported Beckham saying, “Early on in the season, I was hurting. I couldn’t be myself.” Fans are hoping this was not a one-off incident, and he continues to bring his A-game to the gridiron field. His recent exploits on the field have captured the attention of fans who had dismissed him earlier.

He shined on Thursday night with his 116 rushing yards. Just how good of a performance did he put up? To put things into perspective, the next best performer was Zay Flowers at less than half the number (43). OBJ’s night could have been even bigger, as he burned defensive backs two other times but couldn’t connect with Lamar Jackson.

His 100-yard explosion came after two consecutive weeks in which he scored a TD, including a vintage 40-yard take-a-slant-to-the-house last week against Cleveland. People who thought that Thursday was an anomaly, how about now? “Yes, I believe so,” Jackson said when asked if his connection with Beckham finally clicked. “As we keep going, keep practicing, keep getting better each and every week, and him to keep doing what he’s doing, I feel like our chemistry’s going to be skyrocketing.”
