Patrick Mahomes possesses the most impressive talents in the NFL world, including his leadership and passion for the game. However, his dedication fell quite off on Sunday at the sidelines when he was visibly fumed with the results. Nevertheless, today, he displayed another commendable characteristic of his personality. After the loss against the Bills last Sunday, and the yelling and crying episode of Mahomes on the sidelines, the two-time MVP appeared on “The Drive” podcast. During the podcast, the quarterback talked about his reaction to the viral video from the sidelines and reflected on his behavior during the game.

The reigning Super Bowl champion admitted that he watched a bit of the video showing his emotional reaction. Mahomes acknowledged that such reactions are not appropriate, saying, “I love this game. I love my teammates, and I want to go out there and put everything on the line to win. But obviously I can’t do that. I mean, can’t be that way towards officials or really anybody in life. So I probably regretted acting like that.” Furthermore, the 28-year-old particularly regretted how he treated Josh Allen after the game, realizing it wasn’t fair to him “because he had nothing to do with it. And so, I was still hot and emotional.”

Patrick Mahomes was really fumed after losing to the Bills. The officials made a call that canceled an amazing touchdown when Travis Kelce threw a pass to Kadarius Toney. The touchdown could have given the Chiefs a lead of 24-20 with 1:12 time left on the clock.

Mahomes felt it was hard to accept because he believed the game should be decided by what happens on the field, not by officials making mistakes. He also mentioned that he’s never seen this kind of penalty called without a warning before and is worried that these calls affect the outcome of games. Therefore, he doesn’t want this for the NFL or football in general.
