Standing at 6’2” and 275 pounds, Brandon Brown of Eau Gallie High School, Melbourne, Florida has finally made his choice to play for LSU after considering a plethora of options available to him from the get-go. Schools like Texas Tech, University of Cincinnati, LSU, and Auburn University were among a few to give Brown irrefutable options.

Alas, the Defensive Lineman from Eau Gallie has chosen to play for the LSU Tigers, and he will most likely play the Defensive Tackle or Defensive End for the Louisiana-based university. This is the start of a new life for the defensive player, and he already has big dreams like Russell Wilson, a former Super Bowl winner.

After finally landing at his favorite spot, the LSU Tigers, led by coach Brian Kelly, Brown, took to X and shared a few pictures of what went down during his visit at LSU. He captioned his X post as “Told mamma I wanna be rich like Russell. She said you Wilson one day🐯💜💛 @CoachBrianKelly @CoachBoDavisLSU @CoachBlakeBaker @EauGallieHC @MomOfBOAM321 @KingSnoop_BOAM @EmmanuelSmall7.”

He initially committed to Texas Longhorns on December 19 2023, and had a visit lined up on the 14 of this month. But it seems he will not be visiting since he’s committed to LSU now. Brown uploaded a series of photos and videos, with a complete press kit ready to flaunt.

The post on X has a video of him posing in LSU gear with Never Broke Again playing in the background. Other pictures in the post include some photos of his family members. Sporting a #99 jersey, the last photo showcases the DT in the air trying to get the football around his legs. On3 predicted the D-Lineman to land at LSU with a 92% chance, and they came true.

The caption on his X post makes for good wordplay. Though Russell Wilson signed with the Broncos for a 5-year $242.6 million deal, a comparison with Kansas City Chiefs’ Chris Jones would have made more sense.

Brandon will take some time to reach where Chris Jones or Russell Wilson is

After winning the Super Bowl thrice, Chris Jones became the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, inking a 5-year $160 million deal with $95 million guaranteed. It took Jones 3 Super Bowl wins and 8 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs to get where he is at right now. Last season, Jones recorded 20 solo tackles, and 10.5 sacks (for which he got a $1.25 million bonus) while having 10 assisted tackles.

Though Brandon Brown might not have access to that kind of paycheck right now, he can carve his name in one of the greatest college football teams and get NIL deals early on. Graduating in the class of 2025, Brown has a lot of time to think because apart from this 4-star prospect, LSU is also targeting Damien Shanklin, Zion Williams, and Dilan Battle.

Earlier, Billy Embody, an On3 writer, predicted that Brown would switch sides from Texas and go to LSU, which came true indeed. Suffice it to say, it would take about 15 more years (give or take) for Brown to get to where Russell Wilson or Chris Jones are in their careers.
