When Aaron Rodgers was dating his actress girlfriend Olivia Munn between 2014 and 2017, one thing kept increasing in his life. The distance between him and his family! Almost every family member has spoken about the estrangement and blamed Munn for it. Rodgers hasn’t talked to his family since 2014. Now, Ian O’Connor has made revelations in his book, “Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers“. It’s an unofficial biography. Connor has spent years to find out the information for the fans. He has talked to family members of the quarterback.
Connor talked about the book in the Ross Tucker Podcast and mentioned one specific incident in the book. It is an emotional scene between the QB and his father, Ed Rodgers, which happened last summer. The writer said, “I do have a hopeful scene in the book where last summer he hugged his father at a golf tournament the Celebrity Golf Tournament Lake Tahoe he saw his dad the crowd Ed Rogers planted himself in the crowd because he wanted to be seen and Aaron decided this is the day that I’m going to hug my dad and he went up to him.” Looks like the QB has changed his mind.
Describing the situation, Connor said, “Ed had lost sight of him was looking toward the ninth tea box and this is Saturday in the middle of Aaron’s round and he turned around and there’s Aaron 15 feet away looking at him and Ed froze because he said I forgot what that felt like to have my son look at me to have my son be in my presence and Aaron came up and hugged him and said I love you pops and Ed said I love you son and he cried and Aaron gathered himself and he had to finish his round.” Imagine seeing your son standing in front of you after 10 years. You saw him on TV during those years but never talked to him. Suddenly, he greets you and hugs you. Amazing! Ed last spoke to his son (in person) in December 2014.

While their chance meeting in 2022 sparked hopes, nothing has happened since then. Connor is surprised the situation hasn’t moved forward. While Rodgers kept himself far from his family, he recently confessed that he wanted to mend the relationship. Elaborating on this point, Connor mentioned, “I’m surprised there wasn’t really any followup after that but both of them told me for the book they want a relationship Aaron for the first time since 2014 had now publicly said he wants a relationship with one of his family members and hopefully that will lead to reconciliation.” The reunion may get sped up after this book.
Over all these years, Olivia Munn has been blamed on various occasions for the rift.

Connor tried to find the origin of estrangement in his book. In 2014 winter, Ed and Darla visited Aaron and Olivia Munn before his game against the Buffalo Bills. The Packers suffered an upset defeat with a score of 21-13. But his ex-girlfriend called his parents and insulted them. Even became so angry that she didn’t want them to meet or attend the QB’s games. The parents gave a stern reply, telling her they didn’t need to attend their son’s games, something they had been doing since his childhood.
However, Rodgers wasn’t happy with the situation. He even emailed his family members, that read, “Don’t attack the woman I love.” While you may be thinking that the situation got bad because of his parents, Munn, too, wasn’t much comprising either. She refused the Christmas gifts from his parents and mailed them back to their home in Chico, California. What’s more disappointing was that the family received it back on Ed’s birthday, initially thinking that their son had sent them gifts but was heartbroken upon seeing their gifts returned.
