Miami Dolphins had a season full of ups and downs in 2023. Despite their disappointing end to the year, Tyreek Hill set some records of his own. The wide receiver became the team’s first player to lead the league in receiving yards but had one regret as the season ended.
Prior to last year’s season, Hill had promised his fans a landmark 2000 yards. But the Cheetah fell short of the goal by a mere couple hundred, owing to an injury. Ahead of the upcoming season, the fifth-round draft opened up about the memories of last season and his plans for the future.

Around Week 14, things were looking up for the Dolphins, led by their formidable offense. But then came the unfortunate injuries, and the crew ended with a score of 11-6. Not only did the team’s run end on a low note, but Hill also narrowly missed the personal goal he had set for himself due to an ankle injury.
In a conversation with Luther Glover Workouts, Hill was asked his thoughts about the Dolphins’ last season. The WR acknowledged that it was the best year of his career, but he wasn’t happy with the way it ended. Hill feels that there is room for improvement and mentions that he “fell short” of achieving 2000 yards by just 299 yards.
“Well, for the season, man, I feel like I had one of my best years of my career, man,” Hill expressed. “Obviously, it – didn’t end the way that I wanted it to end, but as far as like personal goals I feel like- I accomplished a lot, and there’s still a whole lot of room of improvement for myself. The goal was to get 2,000 yards, and obviously, I fell short like 299 yards, unfortunately.”
The Dolphins wide receiver had his best season yet, with 1799 receiving yards, 13 touchdowns, 78 yards longest run, and 119 receptions, as per ESPN, in 2023. Despite missing out on his dream milestone due to an ankle injury, Hill is looking up for the coming season.

The ‘Cheetah’ treats every season as a stepping stone
Undeterred by Miami’s disappointing last season, Hill takes his failure to achieve 2000 years in his stride. He feels that each season is like a stepping stone in his journey towards bettering his performance. The wide receiver aims to set an exceptional “standard” for himself and is inspired by his family and kids in this ambition.
“I feel like each and every year for me is like a stepping, you know- tool for exactly where I want to be at and – the standard (I) want to set for my family and also, um, just my kids.”
