Travis Kelce was just not himself in the Mini Bowl. Maybe it was because of the absence of his beau, Taylor Swift. Or maybe it was because he was facing off against his own brother. Speaking in his podcast, New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, he addressed his performance on Monday Night Football.
While talking about his performance, he also outlined how the Kansas City Chiefs need to get back on their feet if they are to continue with the same momentum that they started the season with.

The numbers told a clear tale. He recorded his third least receiving yards in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles and second-worst yards per reception, this season. “I can definitely be better,” he said about his performance. While he did agree that his performance as an individual was not up to the mark, he lauded his team’s efforts.
Being able to rake up 17 points against a defense as strong as the Eagles is no walk in the park. As the Kansas City Chiefs now stand 7-3, the Eagles have improved to 9-1. In the upcoming weeks, the Chiefs are surely going to face lesser-ranked teams, but considering the fact that they also lost to the Denver Broncos, are we starting to see the downfall of the Chiefs?

“To Chiefs Kingdom, sorry we didn’t show our best football out there in the second half specifically but you got a lot of guys in that locker room who give a damn and we’ll get it fixed.” Against the Eagles in a Super Bowl LVII rematch in prime time, the tight end hauled in seven of nine targets for 44 yards and one touchdown.
Before the game, he was considerably behind his season average of 74 yards per game. Additionally, in the fourth quarter, Travis fumbled away a crucial possession within the Eagles’ 10-yard line. The actor was spotted winding up and striking the ground after the mishap.

But the Chiefs’ defeat masks a deeper issue within. This season, Kansas City has scored an NFL-low 53 points in the second half, or just over five points in the last 30 minutes of games. “We’ve struggled in the second half of a few different games,” Travis said. “Things like that you’ve got to take away from the game and have some pride with that and keep that training rolling while getting all the other things fixed and corrected.”
