After the Dallas Cowboys beat the Detroit Lions by a hair’s breadth, CeeDee Lamb emerged as arguably the most venerated player of the game. Now he is the number 1 receiver in the league in terms of targets, second in terms of yardage, and tied third in terms of touchdowns. The game against the Lions has propelled him to new heights of fame as a Cowboy.

In the game against the Lions, Lamb broke the franchise’s record for most receiving yards in a season. He also set the Cowboys’ record for catches by having the most in a season. Michael Irvin set both records back in 1995 and Lamb repeated the history after more than 2 decades. The self-proclaimed “biggest Cowboys fan”, Skip Bayless couldn’t stop singing CeeDee Lamb’s praises.

The Skip Bayless Show on Apple Podcasts dives deeper into the lore of CeeDee Lamb and why Bayless thinks he is the real Cowboys star. He was posed with a simple question from a follower which was, “Is CeeDee the Cowboys MVP this season? If not, who is?”. He pointed out that his colleague on Undisputed, Richard Sherman didn’t believe in Lamb when the Cowboys drafted him. However, Bayless couldn’t be happier because he was following the WR from his Sooners days.

Bayless pointed out how Lamb led the nation in YAC’s in his career with Oklahoma and said, “I believe in CeeDee Lamb. In fact, I’ve come to believe this Cowboy team has only one real baller on it. I’m talking about BALLER, big game, big play, playmaker. Maybe not Michael Irvin, but close. One baller and that’s CEE DEE LAMB!” He also dismissed Dak Prescott as a “real baller”.

He then pointed out how Richard Sherman didn’t believe in Lamb at first and called him a “fringy no. 1 receiver”, pointing out that Sherman didn’t think that Lamb was a bona fide receiver.

The Cowboys’ WR is the number 1 receiver in the league per ESPN. He has played 16 games this season and caught 122 out of 168 catches, averaging 13.5 yards per catch. He’s even left Tyreek Hill behind in case of receptions; however, the Miami WR holds it down when it comes to the yardage. However, Hill didn’t break Irvin’s record of 1995.

Irvin had 111 catches for 1,603 yards in 1995, the same year in which the Cowboys won the Super Bowl. Maybe this is CeeDee Lamb’s cue. Also, how can we forget his 92-yard catch after Dak Prescott threw a deep pass, nearly avoiding getting sacked by the Lions? After catching the ball, Lamb basically strolled through the end zone taunting the Detroit team.
