The MVP award has arguably been dominated by quarterbacks in recent years. Could this season witness a non-QB claiming the MVP award after 12 years? The last non-quarterback to win this award was Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson in 2012. And now, all eyes are on Tyreek Hill, as even Micah Parsons believes so.

Besides that, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker also shared his fantasy of switching roles, in which he talks about his wild QB claim for two wide receivers. Interestingly, last month, Parsons playfully threatened Miami Dolphins’ Hill, jokingly saying he would send him to the medical tents if he tried to block him during the Christmas Eve game. And now, the linebacker is setting the record straight by speaking positively about Tyreek Hill.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons expressed his support for QB Dak Prescott to be part of the MVP conversation, suggesting that he could successfully throw touchdown passes to standout receivers like Tyreek Hill or Deebo Samuel. Parsons shared this idea on his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” discussing how Brock Purdy and Tua Tagovailoa’s roles might be perceived as more manageable than others, implicitly suggesting that their responsibilities are less challenging.

Parsons said, “This is every day I am being dramatic but I do think Tyreek can make anyone look very good!” He continued saying, “I am talking crazy right now, but I truly believe I could be Tyreek Hill’s quarterback. I can throw it up to Tyreek Hill. I could throw a screen pass to Deebo [Samuel].

He emphasized the potential of these playmakers to generate big plays and make defenders miss. Parsons further stated about his QB statement for Hill, saying, “This might be the crazy Madden side of me, but he’s just that good.” The comments soon started grabbing attention, hence driving out a reply from the football player who tweeted, “If I say in talking crazy obviously I’m playing around lol!!”

Parsons though wasn’t playing around about Hill’s quality as a player as he concluded by stating that if Hill were to break the record for receiving yards in a season, he should be granted the league’s MVP this time. However, at the current moment, for him, Tyreek Hill is the Offensive Player of the Year.

Will Tyreek Hill break the receiving record?

No wide receiver has ever been made an MVP, and Tyreek Hill could be an inspiration for years. The Phins receiver had an excellent game against the Washington Commanders, contributing significantly to Miami’s 45-15 victory.

He is currently on track to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season receiving record and could become the first player in the league to achieve a 2000-yard receiving season. In the game, Hill showcased his exceptional speed, finishing with 5 catches for 157 yards and 2 TDs.

Interestingly, Hill has already surpassed Johnson’s Super Bowl-era record for receiving yards through 12 games and is poised to break his single-season record set in 2012. And if he does so, Hill could be named the first wide receiver to lift the MVP trophy.
