Will Davante Adams be the game-changer the Jets need, or just another overhyped trade?

The mystery has been solved. Ever since Davante Adams requested a trade from the Raiders, everyone had only one question in mind. Where will he go? His destination has been finalized. Gang Green, welcome the new receiver. After all the drama in the last few days, the Jets have secured the veteran WR.

Earlier, Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders will not pay the remaining salary to Adams. However, the Jets are more than happy to assume the balance. In 2024, he will get $11.26 million for the remaining season. This will jump to $36.25 million for the next 2 seasons. But that’s not the only thing the Jets gave for the receiver.

It has been reported that the Jets are giving a 3rd round pick to the Raiders, which can progress to 2nd round if Adams performs well. The Raiders initially wanted a first-round pick for the trade. However, the Jets convinced them to accept the 3rd round draft pick.

Have an interesting take?

The Jets haven’t been able to get the results they wanted. The situation got so worse that they fired Robert Saleh and replaced him with Jeff Ulbrich. The problem at the core is visible to everyone. Inability to score! In 6 weeks, they haven’t scored more than 30 points in a game.

Davante Adams brings that edge. The All-Pro receiver’s biggest advantage is he has shared the locker room for 8 seasons with the quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He will become the most experienced receiver in the Jets camp. That will come in handy for the young WRs.

The trade has pumped the Gang Green. For the first time this season, they have a belief that the team is going all-in. One excited fan shared his happiness on X, previously Twitter, and wrote, “Wow! The Jets really are all in this season!” But wait, there’s a setback as well.

Davante Adams is struggling with a hamstring injury. So it remains to be seen when will he debut for the Jets. The team is reeling at a 2-4 win-loss record. The earlier he gets on the field, the better it will be for the team.
