Only two players have accomplished what many consider the ultimate individual honor in the NFL: winning both the Offensive Player of the Year Award and the Super Bowl MVP. There is only one player who has pulled this off after 62-year-old Jerry Rice Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Yeah, you heard that right! He has won MVP awards for his outstanding performance in Super Bowl LVI and the Offensive Player award, in the same year. And, he is also the son of former NFL quarterback Craig Kupp.

The Rams drafted him in 2017 and, since then, have held onto him. The 2021 season was his best year after getting back into the big league, where he was fourth in rushing yards, receiving touchdowns, and receiving yards. Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Eastern Washington Eagles, earning the prestigious Walter Payton Award and Jerry Rice Award. Quite the achievements, right?

The Rams went all in on their #10, locking him down with a three-year, $80.1 million deal in 2024. The contract guarantees $75 million, including a $20 million signing bonus, and gives him an average of $26.7 million per year until 2026.

Cooper Kupp’s 2024 contract breaks down to a $15 million base salary, a $5 million roster bonus, and a cap hit of $29.78 million. The dead cap value is $52.04 million. And if anything happens like a season-ending or career-ending injury, his contract ensures that he still gets paid.

Cooper Kupp has worked hard towards building an outstanding career–not only winning a Super Bowl but also winning over the hearts of football fans everywhere.
