Names often carry weight, and ‘Tremble’ does just that for this athletic family. Tommy Tremble has proven to be a formidable force on the field. The Carolina Panthers recognized his potential, drafting him as a tight end in 2021 after watching his standout performances at Notre Dame. But football wasn’t just a new chapter for Tommy; it was part of his family’s legacy. Why? Because his father, Greg Tremble, also blazed a trail in the NFL.
Greg Tremble’s NFL journey was no walk in the park. Starting as an undrafted free agent with the Browns in ’94, he faced early setbacks, like an injury that could’ve sidelined lesser players. But Greg didn’t throw in the towel. After a stop with the Dallas Cowboys, where he tallied six defensive tackles and six special teams tackles in seven games, his brief run with the team overlapped with their Super Bowl XXX win. Not bad for a reserve player, right? He later suited up for the Eagles, keeping the Tremble name alive in the league. Now it’s Tommy’s turn to carry the family torch. But hold on. Tommy’s not the only Tremble carrying those athletic genes. Yup! In fact, all his siblings are athletic.

Greg and Abigail Tremble have four kids: Isabella, Tommy, Jamie, and Blair. While Blair, at just 8 years old, hasn’t made waves in the sports world yet, her siblings are already known for their athletic prowess. But don’t think it’s all from Greg’s side of the family. Abigail’s roots are steeped in football, too. Her father, Rich Watts, played linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons in the late 1960s, and her grandfather, John Watts, was a fullback for the Chicago Bears in the 1930s.
Abigail isn’t just a sports mom, though. She’s also the co-founder and president of Know2Grow, proving that leadership runs deep in the Tremble family. And Isabella Tremble was the perfect example to her siblings with that mentality. Why? You ask. As a freshman (2017) at Marshall, she was all over the track, competing in nine meets, including the pentathlon at the Thundering Herd Invitational, scoring 3,029 points.
Fast forward to her sophomore year, and she was setting personal records like a seasoned pro. She clocked 2:24.72 in the 800m at the Marshall Women’s Classic and placed third in the 400m at the Savannah State Twilight with a time of 1:02.01. The next Tremble generation is charging forward. What’s next? The football brothers—they have taken it upon themselves to finish what their dad once started.

In 247Sports’ top-50 ranking of freakiest college football prospects, Jamie landed at No. 45 overall back in 2023. That’s no small feat. Andrew Ivins, 247Sports director of scouting, couldn’t help but mention Jamie’s mind-blowing 11-foot, 6 9/10-inch broad jump at a UC Report camp. Need a comparison? His older brother, Tommy Tremble, clocked a 10-foot-2 broad jump at his pro day, and Jamie’s already jumping past him! Ivins even went as far as comparing Jamie to Syracuse standout in Oronde Gadsden II. Now, that’s some serious hype!
Before we dive into Jamie Tremble’s rise, it’s worth noting that both Tremble brothers are making waves at the same position—tight end. We’ve seen Tommy’s hard-hitting play style as Carolina’s trucking TE. Sure, his first three seasons saw a modest 62 receptions for 548 yards and seven touchdowns. Not exactly jaw-dropping numbers, right? But here’s the kicker—Carolina’s new coaching staff and front office are still high on him. Don’t believe it? Listen to GM Dan Morgan hailing Tommy back in March 2024. “He’s one of those guys that we hold in high regard,” he said, adding that his development last year was immense. Further, Morgan assured that he is “excited” to see Tommy suit up in the 2024 season.
Sure, Jamie has some big shoes to fill, especially with the shadow of his older brother looming over him. But don’t mistake him for the lesser Tremble. If you’ve followed his journey, you know this 18-year-old isn’t here to mess around. As a senior in 2023, he racked up an impressive 63 catches for 1,290 YDs and 15 TDs. Although Syracuse’s TE targets for 2024 may be dominated by Oronde Gadsden and Dan Villari, Tremble’s raw talent is undeniable. So, do not expect him to ride the bench altogether. He’s already getting reps in training camp, and who knows? We might even see some creative three-TE sets with him on the field.

A little background check and you’d know that Jamie’s path to Syracuse was no accident. Despite offers from schools like Boston College, Duke, and Georgia Tech, he committed to Syracuse in June 2023 after meeting with Coach Fran Brown. Tremble stuck with his decision on National Signing Day, locking in his status as the highest-rated freshman under Dino Babers with a stellar .9057 Composite Rating and four-star praise from all the top recruiting services. Much like a rookie stepping onto the NFL stage, Tremble is hitting the ground running, adjusting to the program’s grueling pace. He told CNY Central’s Ashley Wenskoski, “This is the hardest I’ve ever worked in my life, and I’m having a great time.”
What does the future hold for him as a pro football player? Only time will tell. But rest assured by god’s grace he’s got the start many only dream of. Now, it’s his ship to navigate to the shore or to turn it around back in the storm that’s waiting. Tommy and Greg Tremble did. And that should be enough motivation for Jamie.
