After Cleveland Browns offensive guard Wyatt Teller left the game against the Giants on Sunday. It was confirmed he had suffered a knee injury when he jogged to the sidelines to receive treatment. However, there wasn’t any confirmation regarding how many games he would be missing.
Well, offering an update on the same Ari Meirov posted that All-Pro G Wyatt is set to miss multiple weeks of NFL action with a devastating knee injury. This comes as a heavy blow for the Browns’ offensive line, which is already short on key players. On the day when Teller vacated his position, rookie Zak Zinter took his place at the right tackle.

Although the Browns eventually lost the game in Cleveland 15-21, Teller wasn’t the only player who left the field with an injury. LT Jedrick Wills, who was making his comeback to the team after missing NFL action from week 9 of last season, suffered a knee injury. This meant the Browns finished their match with Joel Bitonio playing as a left tackle, Ethan Pocic shifting in as left guard, and backup center Nick Harris entering the game in the closing moments.
Even head coach Kevin Stefanski didn’t rule out the chances of Teller making it to the injury reserves before the next injury report. Well, if it does happen, it would mean that Teller will be missing at least four weeks of NFL action. Elsewhere, defensive end Myles Garrett, who re-aggravated his foot injury, might be questionable in next week’s clash against the Raiders.

All those injuries don’t bode well for the Browns, as they already have eight players on their injury reserves. Hakeem Adeniji, David Bell, Mahamoud Diabate, Tony Fields II, Myles Harden, Maurice Hurst II, Juan Thornhill, and Luke Wypler make up their injury reserves. With so many of their players out within the first three weeks of the regular season, the Browns ended up suffering their second loss of the season in Cleveland.

Coming into the clash high in confidence after beating the Jaguars in Jacksonville, everyone thought the Browns would make light work of the Giants. However, it didn’t happen the way people had expected, as the Giants recorded their first win of the season in Cleveland. Opening up after the loss, defensive end Myles Garrett expressed, “We can do better. We will do better.” But on the day, they weren’t anywhere close to being better against a side who were 0-2 coming into the face-off.

Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers and QB Daniel Jones seemingly outplayed the Browns’ defense. As Nabers recorded eight catches, 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jones notched up two TDs and 236 passing yards with zero interceptions. Well, the Giants QB even managed to surpass Deshaun Watson’s numbers when he finished his day with 21-0f-37 passes for 196 yards. But among those statistics, Watson had a day to forget as he lost the ball two times while getting sacked for a whopping eight times.
Even head coach Kevin Stefanski was visibly disappointed after the match as he stated, “I know we can be better, and we will be. That’s not good enough from a player standpoint, from a coaching standpoint, you name it. Just not good enough, and you’re not going to win games when you play like that.” As Browns continue to find some consistency, they are not getting any help from the mounting injury list. But for now, they can just hope for their key players to return as quickly as possible, with playoff chances evaporating thick and fast from Cleveland.
