The Rams’ win over the 49ers last week showed how unpredictable the NFL can be. Going into the match-up with more players in the injury reserves than any other franchise in the NFL. They managed to pull off the biggest upset yet after beating the 49ers 27-14 in Los Angeles. Well, if they didn’t manage to get that victory, their season could have been over, considering 3 straight losses.
Although they were fortunate to get their first win, visiting Chicago to face off against the Bears isn’t going to be an easy task whatsoever. And it hasn’t been made easier considering the injuries in their receiver room. Their star receiver, who entered his sophomore year this season, suffered a brutal knee injury against the Lions in the opening week. Meanwhile, Pro Bowler Cooper Kupp got his ankle injured the following week against the Cardinals.
Well, it isn’t surprising that just before the Bears game, both Nacua and Kupp aren’t expected to play any part. But it wouldn’t be the only game they will be missing in the next few weeks. As Puka Nacua is expected to be out for another month, Copper Kupp will miss the next two games as both continue their recovery to full fitness.

This comes as a huge setback for the Rams, who have seemingly struggled to get going this season. However, among the two, Kupp seems to be early on his recovery schedule, as the Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue reported that the Rams WR doesn’t have a cast anymore on his leg. While head coach Sean McVay stated that the 2021 Super Bowl Champion is “attacking every single day” to come back as soon as possible.

But there isn’t any rush to get him back, as week 7’s clash against the Vikings is the closest date for him to return. Elsewhere, Puka Nacua still has a compression sleeve on his knee, and he is expected to return to Seattle to face off against the Seahawks.
Rams and Bears injury list before the clash in Chicago
What’s your perspective on:
Can the Rams survive without Kupp and Nacua, or is their season already doomed?
Have an interesting take?
With the Rams’ visit to Chicago to take on the Bears, their injury list doesn’t seem to grow smaller. Kupp and Nacua aren’t the only notable absentees from their offensive line this week, as OL Steve Avila, Jonah Jackson and Joe Noteboom are all out from this clash. Even guard Logan Bruss, CB Tre’Davious White, OL Rob Havenstein, and Alaric Jackson found themselves being added to the injury list before Sunday.

But the Rams aren’t the only ones who have found themselves struggling to field key players in their lineup. As the Bears could be without Keenan Allen, Andrew Billings and Kevin Byard, all starters. Among all of them, Allen could play a few snaps, as he remained a full participant in this week’s practice after missing the first two games of this season.
Offering us an insight about the injuries, Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur stated, “Any time you have injuries, you feel bad for the person, but you don’t feel bad for yourself or your unit or your team. It’s just time to go.” But can the Rams manage to continue their momentum from last week’s victory over the 49ers? Or will the injuries catch up to them? Well, guess what we will find out today itself.
