Martin Ifedi is a former NFL defensive end who had brief stints with both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons. The elder brother of Germain, he served as an inspiration for him to get into football. Both Martin and Germain are closer in age compared to their older siblings. Martin played football at the University of Memphis. He got signed by the St. Louis Rams, the former NFL team in the year 2015. However, the Rams released him the same year, and then the Bucs picked him up for their practice squad.
Sadly, Martin’s NFL career was pretty short, lasting only three years. He had a rough time with injuries that held him back throughout his brief career. After saying goodbye to the NFL, Martin signed with the Alliance of American Football in 2019, but sadly, injuries kept him off the field once again. To the world, Martin might not have been seen as a big NFL star, but for Germain, he was always someone to look up to.
Whatever he is today, the Browns‘ OT says it’s all because of his brothers. Talking about his siblings, Germain said, “I couldn’t get enough of following them around growing up. It looks like the Ifedi brothers share a close bond and are super tight-knit. “I think their personalities kind of make up a part of who I am. I came last, so I could sit back and learn from those guys”, added Ifedi.
How many siblings does the Browns OT have?
Born to Ben and Victoria Ifedi, Germain is the youngest of four siblings. His parents are Nigerian immigrants. He grew up in Houston along with Benedict, Valentine, and Martin. Their mother, Victoria, worked as a parole officer and part-time nurse, while their father, Ben, works for United Airlines. Besides his brothers, his parents have always had his back. He gives a lot of credit for his success to them. “They instilled that hard work in me from the very beginning. It’s grown throughout my life”, said Ifedi.
