Jayden Daniels has little to no chance of joining the Cincinnati Bengals in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Yet his path is very similar to that of star QB Joe Burrow. From the outset, both athletes played for the LSU Tigers at the collegiate level.

From Joe Burrow to Jayden Daniels, the LSU hype is real

Jeff Duncan took to his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) and credited the implementation of cutting-edge technology at the university as the reason behind the success of the QB development program. Both Burrow and Daniels lit up the award season, respectively, in their times. Burrow claimed the Heisman Trophy in 2019, while Daniels in 2023. However, another important point of similarity between the two is that neither of them started their college careers at LSU.

Burrow started at Ohio State, while Daniels started at Arizona State. This is the first hint as to why the LSU QB program is succeeding. Their scouting is one of the best in the country, even going as far as to pluck student-athletes from other schools. And they have much to offer as well.
LSU has transformed its facilities into state-of-the-art. Their passing education to the QBs is far superior to any other team on their level and enough to rival some of the NFL teams themselves. The school has been consistently investing in new tech, to retain the advantage they have over other schools. This, in turn, attracts high-quality QBs to their program. Their program will get even more recognition if Daniels’ route finds similarity with Burrow once again.
No. 1 overall pick in the bag?
Burrow became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. With the talent and skill at his disposal, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Daniels is on the same path too. However, the reports have indicated that this year’s owner of the overall first pick, the Chicago Bears has someone else in mind.

Caleb Williams is another highly touted QB and his destination of Chicago seems solid. This leaves the Washington Commanders as they possess the second overall pick. The Commanders have a liking for Daniels too. So, maybe now the paths of Burrow and Daniels will begin to diverge!
