Quite a lot of teams need to resolve their quarterback issues. One of those teams is the Green Bay Packers, who are in the last year of their deal with Jordan Love. In 2023, the Packers QB signed a $13.5 million deal which will run through the 2024 campaign. But considering the season that he had last year, the Packers are interested in retaining Love.
Since Love proved himself with a 4,159-yard season last year, it would be fair to ask for a pay raise. To do so, Jordan Love is patiently waiting for the starting bid of sorts to get an idea of the amount of money he can possibly make going forward. His payday depends on his competition, to say the least.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler discussed Jordan Love’s situation in detail. This year, the QB will get $10.5 million as a base salary along with some incentives. Per the analyst, it is just a waiting game for Love till he gets an idea of what he wants to go for.
However, per Fowler, the Packers are “motivated” to give Jordan Love a deal. “The sense is around the league is that Green Bay is motivated to do a deal, to do an extension with Jordan Love,” Fowler said. “I’m also told that Love’s willing to be a little patient here because you’re looking at a lot of quarterbacks who could get paid fairly soon.”
Jared Goff and Tua Tagovailoa, who also carried their teams to post-seasons, will make salaries north of $20 million this season. It’s noteworthy to mention that both the QBs will enter their 5th season in the league. So, Fowler thinks that this price can go even higher.
“Jared Goff in Detroit, in Miami with Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville. Those will set an even higher market for a QB landscape that’s above $50 million per year for some of these guys,” said Fowler while adding, “And so if you’re Jordan Love, you can sit back a little bit, but the felling is that there’s enough mutual interest for this to get done…”
Jordan Love’s stats and his demeanor make more of a case for the Wisconsin team to keep him closer. While $50 million is a stretch, Love can still reel in a hefty deal. There are even more reasons why the team should feel confident in Love.

“Yeah, I think it just shows how far he’s come with his maturity level. Really kind of taking the reins, taking the ownership of this team. He’s been fantastic throughout the course of this off-season and you know, that’s kind of what we expect from him,” said the Packers head coach about the quarterback.
From what we’ve gathered, it seems like things are going in Jordan Love’s favor after he took the team to post-season last year. The HC and his team members believe in Love and there are already signs that the squad is motivated to ink a deal soon. How much would that be? Only time will tell.
