No matter how valuable you think you are, if you’re in the wrong place, it doesn’t matter. That’s what happened with former Kansas City Chiefs and now, Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill. When he decided to jump from a ship that was gloriously racing ahead to a ship that was far behind, people questioned his decision. Who leaves a Super Bowl-winning team for a team that did 9-8?

But it seems that Hill’s bet paid off. The wideout is at his career best, making records. Sometimes it’s not you who is wrong. Maybe you’re just in the wrong place. And Tyreek’s story proves that.

Hill played six seasons with the Chiefs and averaged 1,105 yards per year. However, he partnered up with Tua, and recorded 1,014 yards in just 8 games! And now he has nine more to go. He also recorded 1,104 yards in 9 games last year. What he did with Mahomes in one full season, Hill did that in just half a season with Tua Tagovailoa at the helm.

When asked about this he credited his new self to the “offensive creativity” from HC Mike McDaniel. “And Tua,” he said, praising the Dolphins quarterback. “All of that plays into me playing well. I know a lot of people will say ‘Reek, it’s all because of you.’ But it’s not. It’s really because we’re a good team.”

Once a lackluster team, the Dolphins now have the best offense in the NFL, which averages 36.2 points and 327.8 yards per game through six weeks. Is this bad news for Hill’s former team?

Finally, finding a home in the Dolphins, the Cheetah put himself to the task of breaking records. His 814 yards in the first game of the season broke Houston Oilers WR Charley Hennigan’s record who registered 812 yards. In the game against the

New York Giants, Tua connected with Hill for a 69-yard TD, which was a first for the wideout.

“You just know where he’s going to be,” Tagovailoa said about Hill, “Speed kills.” Mahomes and the Chiefs may now be regretting letting go of one of the league’s fastest wide receivers. But too late to be sorry. Hill will face his former team for the first time on Sunday Night Live in Germany.

The year that Hill left the Chiefs, they won the Super Bowl, and many doubted his decision. But now with a resurgent Dolphins team, he is at his career best. Will he be able to take his team to the end zone?
