Is CJ Stroud bitter against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens? One would think that might be the case, given the Texans’ post-season ended at the hands of the Ravens after all. Surprisingly, though, for this rookie, he looked to have an opposite reaction. Addressing the same, he pointed out his vision of achieving more, opposing those who might have been satisfied to reach the playoffs.
The Rookie QB from Houston Texans talked to the media sometime after the divisional game against the Ravens. The reporter asked him a multitude of questions, but one thing that stood out was the fact that he didn’t have a “chip on his shoulder”. For now, Stroud has stopped being a “people pleaser” and is not trying to “prove anyone wrong.” Hence, the point of holding a grudge is beneath him.

The reporter straightforwardly asked CJ Stroud if he held any grudges against the Baltimore Ravens after the divisional game ended with a 34-10 loss. To this, the young QB couldn’t help but give a faint smile as he acknowledged the depth of the query. He remarked, “I wouldn’t necessarily name myself as a guy with a chip on his shoulder. I just think I’m me you know.”
He added that he used to think about “proving people wrong” or “pleasing” them, but the QB left those days far behind him. He mentioned how it was a waste of effort and that it was “exhausting” to do so. The rookie QB realized what went wrong in the Ravens game and is focused on fixing those mistakes as the team looks forward to a new season.
For now, the 22-year-old might just go on a vacation before he is back to grinding for the next season. He is focused on getting “stronger, bigger, faster” as the new season approaches the Houston Texans. However, the Texans’ season might not be the same by the time off-season preparations begin.

As the conversation unfolded, it was revealed that Jerrod Johnson, the QB coach will not be there with the Texans anymore for the next season. This might be a roadblock in CJ Stroud’s way because he has a great relationship with Johnson. He has known Jerrod Johnson since his school days and said that Johnson “had a lot of confidence” in him ever since the QB was a kid.

Not only did he have confidence in his protégé, but he also instilled the same qualities in him and had a major role in Stroud’s upbringing as a quarterback. In a sense, per Stroud, Johnson was the one who honed him to get to the National Football League. Both have a lot in common when it comes to the game of football, family values, and even their love for Texas. Surely, CJ Stroud would miss on a few things next season.
