The trials and tribulations of life have got Patrick Mahomes’ family desolate. While the Kansas City Chiefs QB continues to turn heads on the gridiron, off of it a disheartening reality has reared its head for the past year or so.
Randi Mahomes’ dad and Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather have been battling an undisclosed disease that has kept him hospitalized. While his exact diagnosis hasn’t been revealed by the family, this comes at a stressful time…
For starters, the QB is expecting his third child—Brittany Mahomes announced her pregnancy in May 2023, and is due “any day now”. And then there’s the professional duties that the NFL star must attend. Hours after Randi’s update, the Chiefs are set to face the Denver Broncos. Though the quarterback has never addressed the situation publicly and is not expected to play the last game of the regular season, the emotional weight of the situation is sure to take a toll, which was evident from Randi Mahomes’ emotional appeal…

Ever since her dad’s worsening health, Randi’s social media updates center around the words of wisdom her father imparts. On one such occasion this week, Randi shared an interesting snippet of Mahomes’s childhood, and how his grandfather has been a strong pillar. Posting a picture of little Mahomes on her dad’s shoulders, Randi wrote in her IG Story: “My daddy has always been the best… when he taught the kids to dive 😉. “ However, she also asked the Chiefdom and her fans to “Keep praying for him.”
Having said that, as the world was busy welcoming the new year with high spirits, Randi was beside her dad. On December 28, she updated fans about her dad’s health issue and requested fans to pray for him. Randi wrote in her IG Story, “͏Prayer͏ warriors, ͏please pray fo͏r͏ my daddy. He is in th͏e͏ hospital and i͏s ͏not well.. 🙏🙏🙏.” She followed it up with another update on January 3, writing: “Friday night visiting my dad ❤️”. It’s amply clear that the mother of NFL’s star quarterback shares a very close bond with her father.
Mama Mahomes is known for giving frequent updates about the family on social media. On Thanksgiving 2024, too, Randi shared a photo of her family, which also included her father. He seemed good at that time. That was the last time people saw Patrick’s grandfather before being hospitalized again. It’s really a tough time for the Mahomes family, after Patrick lost his grandmother in February last year.
It’s a time of concern for the Chiefs’ superstar, but the show must go on. The Chiefs have another important game on the road. This time – to Denver!
Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs geared up for the regular season finale
Everything is set and the Kansas City Chiefs are now gearing up for the game against the Denver Broncos. We all know this is gonna be the last game of the season and it will be without Patrick Mahomes. He is taking a rest, but he must be ready to ‘dominate’ the opponents in the playoffs. But why does this game matter for both teams?
First of all, the Denver Broncos are not out of the playoff contention. According to USAToday and the Broncos’ official website, in order to clinch a playoff spot they have to win the Week 18 game vs the Chiefs. This one’s not gonna be a cakewalk for the Denver team!

Andy Reid, who has made a firm decision to start the final offseason game with Carson Wentz, has strongly spoken about the Broncos game. They are not going to take this game lightly at any cost to keep up the pace they have maintained with an insane 15-1 record.
However, talking about the game against Carson Wentz and the Chiefs, Sean Payton (Broncos HC) was ‘excited.’ When asked about the upcoming game, the Broncos HC said, “To play in this stadium, in a meaningful game at home? Shoot, I’m getting excited now talking about it.” It seems the game has already begun.
But before moving to a conclusion, here is an interesting fact! Do you know where the Denver Broncos stand vs the Chiefs in the past 10 years? Surprisingly, they have been in head-to-head contact 19 times in the last 10 years, and guess what? The Chiefs have won 17 out of 19 games. Bo Nix will have to work against some major odds, huh?
