Are the 49ers cursed with injuries, or is it just a string of bad luck?

The San Francisco 49ers are probably one of the most unluckiest teams in the NFL right now. Not only did they lose the Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they also came out pretty banged up. But Brandon Aiyuk’s injury was probably one of the worst ones the 49ers have encountered in recent times.

Aiyuk’s knee hyperextended when Brock Purdy tried to squeeze a 15-yard pass with just 48 seconds left in the first half of the game. The Chiefs defenders, Chamarri Conner and Trent McDuffie were already on his tail. McDuffie was holding Brandon Aiyuk from behind and Conner bumped into his knee from the front. The 49ers receiver went down and couldn’t stand up for a while. Aiyuk’s teammates and other team personnel attended to him.

But things just got worse for the 49ers receiver who recently scored a 4-year $120 million extension. Not only is he in the hospital, but he also has to hear about his teammate Deebo Samuel to go hospital because of pneumonia and fluid in his lungs. It’s a regrettable scenario. Despite being admitted, Deebo Samuel shared his condolences. He expressed his sadness via IG Story.

“Know I’m gone lay it all on the line for you brother!!! This one hurt fr,” Samuel wrote on IG as he shared a 49ers post relating to Aiyuk’s injury. But it was Adam Schefter who provided more updates on Aiyuk’s condition in his latest Instagram post.

Per the ESPN Insider: “49ers WR Deebo Samuel has been hospitalized due to pneumonia and fluid in his lungs. There is no timeline for his return.” He also reported that George Kittle is on a day-to-day basis after suffering a sprained foot. But coming back to Brandon Aiyuk, who tore his ACL, and MCL, will be going through surgery and won’t be returning this season.

Have an interesting take?

Kyle Shanahan spoke with his receiver and reported that Aiyuk was “bummed out” about what had happened to him. “He was hurting, just bummed out, exactly how you’d expect. But he’s a strong dude and spiritual guy and believes everything happens for a reason, so he’ll be all right. But definitely a little down last night, and I was just telling him how bad I felt for him and just let him know we’re all here for him through this,” Shanahan said.

Meanwhile, Deebo Samuel also isn’t looking well. However, there are still chances that he might return on the field again.

What’s going on with Deebo Samuel?

Apparently, the receiver was facing signs of illness before the game and he might be on a day-to-day basis. However, they might confirm his return timeline once he leaves the hospital in a couple of days. Per Shanahan, the injury just became worse in a short time.

“I think it started acting up in the middle of the night Saturday night or early Sunday morning and then it just kind of evolved as the day went,” Shanahan said of Samuel. “Once we found out he had the fluid in his lungs and stuff after the game, then I believe they sent him over there.”

To make matters worse, the 49ers receivers roster is not doing well at all. WR Chris Conley is questionable, along with Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Jauan Jennings is out for the next game with a hip injury. Christian McCaffrey will miss time because the team placed him on IR.

The Niners are now 3-4  and second in the NFC West. However, despite the absence of all their playmakers, the 49ers still have WRs Jacob Cowing, Ricky Pearsall, and Ronnie Bell to rely on. The San Fran team is playing the Dallas Cowboys who are desperate for a win. Can they stop them at home amidst all these problems? Let us know what you think.
