Imagine Simba from The Lion King paying you a visit to your school. It would be so cool, right? Well, as long as it’s a man dressed as Simba, it’s all good. But if it’s a real lion, everyone would pray for their lives. Rams QB Matthew Stafford‘s wife, Kelly Stafford, has often shared her struggles as a mom of four, especially when dad Matthew is busy with his football duties for most of the year. She’s also talked about the challenges of moving from Michigan to California. It’s been almost four years since Matthew joined the Rams, and while the family has settled in California, Kelly’s still figuring out the city. And recently, she faced the ‘scare’ of her life.

You’ve probably heard about Kelly’s podcast,
The Morning After, which she hosts with her friend Hank. It’s all about motherhood and her life as an NFL wife, as she works through the challenges life throws her way. But the recent challenge Kelly faced would give anyone a jump scare. A few days earlier, the mom of four got a call from the school saying they were on lockdown. (Why?) Because a ‘mountain lion’ had been spotted roaming around. “They had a lockdown because the Mountain Lion had made it to the school,” shared Kelly.

Let’s be real. When we were kids, we all secretly wished for something like this to happen to get out of tests or math class. But as a parent, what do you even do when you get a call like that? You can’t do much except pray! I mean, this is not a movie where you can fight off a mountain lion like a hero. In real life, you can’t even harm a wild animal without the authorities coming after you.
But you can’t just live in fear like that. Imagine not letting your kids play outside because of it. It’s so depressing. The whole mountain lion situation has Kelly seriously stressed about her little girls (understandable, right?).
God is testing all the Californians says Matthew Stafford’s wife

“We’ve weathered the earthquakes, the fires. Well, now we have mountain lions,” said Matthew Stafford‘s wife as she shared her struggles of living in the city. And of course, we get it. But it seems like Californians are used to it. Kelly shared on her podcast that when she talked about the whole incident with a girl from the neighborhood who she plays tennis with, her response was, “Oh, we have those things on our property all the time. We live mountainside.”
Yes, like most of us, the response left Kelly Stafford stunned. “If a Mountain Lion was on my property, I don’t know what I would do. And I’m not going to say what I would do because it’ll turn into a headline, but you bet. No, no, you better believe I’m not just letting it hang out,” added Kelly. Well, this is a serious concern. The Rams QB’s wife even shared that she was wondering why animal control doesn’t relocate the mountain lion somewhere else and let it roam away from residential areas.

Well, now that Matthew is home for a few days during his bye week, maybe the two can chat about this issue and figure out a solution. Of course, after he gets the girls back from gymnastics training.
