Baker Mayfield is “top priority” for the Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have several hard decisions to make as multiple players stand on the brink of free agency. But the Head Coach Todd Bowles made it clear who the top focus is, at the NFL Scouting Combine. Bowles was all praise for Mayfield and feels that the quarterback fits well with the offense. The HC labeled him to be “an extremely high priority” and hoped that “things get worked out“.
The general manager, Jason Licht, also echoed Bowles’ views. While he clarified that the team isn’t eliminating the possibility of drafting a quarterback, retaining Mayfield is the top priority at the moment. After having played with four teams in the six years of his career, the QB might be more inclined towards Tampa Bay, where he had his career-high season.
