The year 2024 was the 20th season for Aaron Rodgers in the league. His aspirations had reached their pinnacle with a Super Bowl and MVP. But for the quarterback, it’s more than trophies. It’s about personal satisfaction. Once counted among the best, he is just a shadow of himself now. So much so that he pleaded with the NY Jets to let him play the 2025 season. But they shut the door on him. Now, pieces of advice flow in from all corners of the football world. But when 3-time Super Bowl winner says something, we have to listen.
On the March 3 episode of The Rich Eisen Show, 2005 Hall of Famer QB Steve Young had something very sad to say. He didn’t take any personal shot at A-Rod but tried to show him some light, saying, “I’ve always said when your career ends, the dream is shattered. You’re the bag of bones at the bottom of the cliff and you’ve got to start. Roger Staubach was the one that told me my advice when I was retiring: ‘Steve, just run, run away. The game will never leave you, but you’ve got to run.’ That’s the best advice I can give because it’s a death. You have to treat it as a death. It’s a death, and you got to go through all the processes of death.” Those are some intense pieces of wisdom to offer. But he isn’t wrong.

If he retires, it will be a sad departure. Now, playing in the NFL was Rodgers’s only dream. He worked hard for it and finally succeeded. The fame and name he got in the league were unmatched. It even cost him his family relations. But there’s a limit to playing at the highest level, even if it feels like the soul leaving one’s body.
However, in such a competitive world, everything is determined by one’s performance. The slump started in 2022 with an 8-9 record for the Packers. The NY Jets welcomed him with celebrations, but 2023 ended in the first quarter of the season opener with an Achilles heel injury. Also, 2024 wasn’t very good for Aaron, as he finished it with a 5-12 record. The defenders sacked him 40 times in the 2024 season. Also, he had 11 interceptions. The Jets expected a playoff cut performance from him, but he failed to deliver.
To amend the 2024 season’s mistakes, they brought in HC Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey. They had to make the changes. It started with QB’s departure. Now, everyone is guessing his landing spot.

Is Aaron Rodgers' time in the NFL truly over, or does he have one last comeback left?

Aaron Rodgers might land with the Titans
While most teams don’t want to deal with A-Rod’s shenanigans, there’s a team that could give him a shot at redemption. Titans finished the season with the worst 3-14 record in 2024. They gave 2 years to Will Levis, who failed with 3-6 in 2023 and 2-10 in 2024. Sportsnaut’s Matt Johnson believes Aaron Rodgers could go to the AFC South team.

He claimed, “Rodgers already has a home in Nashville, and his Pat McAfee appearances would likely cause fewer problems in a smaller market. Signing Rodgers also allows Tennessee to use the first overall pick on Travis Hunter. It’s a win-win scenario for all parties, and it would only be a one-year commitment for the Titans.” However, the scenario is more complicated.
Titans GM Mike Borgonzi has already opened the possibility of exchanging the 1st pick of the 2025 NFL Draft for more picks. And Aaron Rodgers has more struggles than just performance. He battled many injuries during the 2024 season as well.
If the Titans land him and sign him for even 1 year, they risk the possibility of a rebuild. Also, QB being very vocal, they risk getting hate in case he reveals the team’s inner equations to the public. He did this in the Jets while claiming that fans didn’t like owner Woody Johnson.
